This Firefox add-on, named "WhatsApp Chat Highlighter," is designed to enhance the user experience on WhatsApp Web. It specifically targets the issue of managing multiple chat conversations, particularly distinguishing between muted and unmuted chats. The core functionality of this add-on is to visually gray out all muted chats in the WhatsApp interface. This feature makes it significantly easier for users to focus on important, active conversations without being distracted by muted chats.

The add-on operates seamlessly within the Firefox browser, integrating directly with WhatsApp Web. When a chat is muted on WhatsApp, this add-on automatically detects the change and alters the visual appearance of the chat to a grayed-out state.
