Sync video playback across different streaming platforms for watch parties

Disclaimer: This version is very early state of the extension, there will be more updates coming soon, it may not work at some platforms or fail sometimes.

WatchSync is a powerful synchronization tool designed to bring friends together, regardless of the streaming platform they use. Unlike traditional watch party extensions that limit you to a specific website, WatchSync allows you to create rooms and synchronize playback across different websites instantly.

Whether you are on YouTube, Netflix, or a separate VOD site, WatchSync tracks the host’s playback status and applies it to everyone in the room. Enjoy seamless, real-time viewing experiences without being tied to a single platform.

How It Works:

Install & Launch: Add the extension to your browser and open the popup.

Create a Party: Click to generate a unique 6-digit room code.

Share & Join: Send the code to your friends so they can join your room.

Sync & Play: Open your preferred video on any website. Once your friends join and open their videos, the host takes control of the playback.

Enjoy: Pause, play, and seek in real-time, everyone stays in perfect sync.
