Tab Tagger – Custom Titles & Colors Hived توسط

Rename any tab. Color-code it. Find it in a second.

Tab Tagger is a lightweight tab manager that lets you give any webpage your own custom tab title, a colored or emoji favicon, and organize your saved pages into categories you can reopen with one click. Stop hunting through ten identical "Untitled document" or "Dashboard" tabs — name your tabs the way YOU think about them.

WHY TAB TAGGER?

You know the problem: five Google Docs tabs that all say the same thing. Three dashboards with identical favicons. That one important page you can never find again. Tab Tagger fixes tab chaos at the source — the tab itself.

✏ RENAME TABS — give any page a custom tab title that sticks. It reapplies automatically every time you open a matching URL, even after restarting your browser.

🎨 CHANGE TAB ICONS — replace a page's favicon with a bold color dot or any emoji, so the right tab jumps out of a crowded tab strip instantly.

📁 ORGANIZE TABS INTO CATEGORIES — group your saved pages (Work, Shopping, Travel, Research…) with their own colors and emojis. Open a whole category at once — your morning routine, a project's dashboards, a trip you're planning — in one click, in the current window or a new one.

🔔 KEEP UNREAD COUNTS — optionally let sites like WhatsApp Web keep their live "(2)" message counter in front of your custom title. Your name, their notifications.

🔎 SEARCH, SORT & DRAG — filter saved tabs as you type, sort by recently added or A–Z, or drag rows and whole categories into your own manual order, Trello-style.

💾 BACKUP & RESTORE — export everything as JSON (re-importable) or CSV (for spreadsheets). Import merges cleanly: no duplicates, your manual order and dates preserved.

🔄 OPTIONAL SYNC — follow your tags across devices through your browser's own account sync. Off by default; your data stays local unless you choose otherwise.

🌙 POLISHED EVERYWHERE — light and dark themes, keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Shift+Y to tag, Ctrl+Shift+U for your saved list), undo on every delete, and a toolbar badge that shows at a glance whether the current page is tagged.

PERFECT FOR

• Work — tell identical dashboards, docs, and inboxes apart at a glance
• Shopping — tag that exact search or product page you keep coming back to
• Travel planning — flights, hotels, guides in one category, opened together
• Students & researchers — name sources properly and reopen a whole reading list
• Anyone with too many tabs — which is to say, everyone

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open a page, click Tab Tagger.
2. Type your title, pick a color or emoji.
3. Save — the tab updates instantly.
That's it. Match the exact URL, any URL containing a phrase, or a regex pattern if you're fancy.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

No account. No server. No tracking. No ads. Everything lives in your browser's local storage and never leaves your machine unless you enable your browser's own sync. The extension needs access to pages only to apply YOUR titles and icons to them — it reads nothing, collects nothing, sends nothing.
