⚙️ What is the "Study Partner" Extension? (Core Function)

Study Partner is a smart, productivity-focused companion designed for online learners and students utilizing platforms for example YouTube and Udemy. Its primary function is to track your presence and attention while you watch digital courses and lectures.

If you tend to drift off, get distracted, or fall asleep during long study sessions, the extension detects your inactivity (idle status) and displays a countdown timer to alert you. If you do not respond, it automatically pauses the video and saves the exact timestamp where you left off to a dashboard for seamless future access—and all this saves your device battery!

🎯 Top Reasons to Install "Study Partner" (Why You May Need It)

1. Smart Video Pausing When Distracted or Asleep
When you leave a lecture running but get distracted by your phone or nod off, the extension calculates your idle time (e.g., 2 minutes). If no mouse movement or keypress is detected, a distinct circular countdown overlay appears on the screen. If you don't dismiss it, the video pauses immediately so you don't miss out on important educational content.
2. No More Wasted Time Rewinding Videos
How many times have you fallen asleep during a two-hour course, only to wake up to a finished video and the frustration of manually searching for where you left off? This extension saves the exact second you stopped paying attention, eliminating the hassle of scrubbing through uncorrect timelines.
3. Integrated "Focusing Board" Log
The extension features a built-in dashboard (Log tab) that acts as a smart archive for your learning journey:

Displays a clear list of the videos and courses you have watched.

Drops precise "markers" or chips on the exact timestamps where your attention drifted (sleep mode).

Provides direct, time-encoded URLs (e.g., at=120s); clicking a log entry opens the lecture at the exact second you left it.

Features a visual progress timeline showing your remaining video percentage to keep your motivation high.

1. Fully Customizable to Your Study Habits
The extension offers complete flexibility through a clean, user-friendly settings interface:

Adjust the allowed idle time limit before an alert triggers (e.g., 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.).

Customize the countdown timer duration (e.g., 12 seconds) giving you ample time to wave the mouse and cancel the pause.

Easily enable or disable the entire tracking engine with a single toggle switch.

1. Intelligent, Context-Aware
The extension is highly optimized for educational environments. It is smart enough to differentiate between user inactivity and video buffering; it won't interrupt you if your internet connection drops or slows down.
