AntiProcrastinator: Automatic Tab Timer for Productivity

AntiProcrastinator is a Firefox extension designed to help you manage time spent on distracting websites. Instead of blocking sites entirely, it limits how long individual tabs can remain open, ensuring your quick breaks don't turn into hours of lost productivity.

Key Features

Tab-Based Time Limits

Set a specific "lifetime" for tabs on social media and entertainment sites. When the timer expires, the tab closes automatically. This encourages intentional browsing and prevents mindless scrolling.

Smart Pause Logic

The timer only counts down when the tab is active. If you switch to another tab to work or research, the countdown pauses, preserving your remaining time for when you actually return to the distracting site.

Fully Customizable

Pre-configured for popular platforms like YouTube, Facebook, X (Twitter), and Instagram. You can easily add any custom domain and adjust time limits directly from the popup menu.

Privacy and Performance

• No Data Collection: All settings and timers are stored locally in your browser.
• Lightweight: Optimized to run in the background with minimal impact on system resources.
• Modern UI: A clean, dark-themed interface providing real-time feedback on your remaining time.

Why use AntiProcrastinator?

Most site blockers are either too restrictive or easy to disable. AntiProcrastinator provides a firm but fair nudge by allowing you access to sites for a limited window, then closing the tab to help you transition back to work.
