دربارهٔ این افزونه
requires the solstone app on this computer. solstone is a personal memory platform, and the solstone extension works with the solstone app and takes in nothing without it. get the solstone app at solstone.app.
the solstone extension runs in Firefox, with the solstone app on mac, windows and linux.
you choose which sites to share. by default, you add sites one at a time. you can also choose all sites after a separate agreement and leave sites out. on the sites you choose, the solstone extension takes in the page's text and rough layout whenever a tab is open, and all of it goes into your journal:
never pixels. never raw HTML. sites you leave out aren't taken in, but other sites shown inside those pages still are.
with "sites you add", it never takes in a site you didn't add. "all sites" is only ever your choice: every website your browser allows, including ones you visit later, except sites you leave out.
before you add it, Firefox shows the extension's required data collection: website content, browsing activity and personal communications. the list above covers all three, whichever way you share. nothing is taken in until you also agree to that list inside the extension and choose where to share.
where it goes: nothing leaves Firefox except to the solstone app on this computer. from there it goes into your journal over the link the solstone app already uses. your journal is always private, only yours.
about the permission Firefox shows: when you add the solstone extension, Firefox says it can "Exchange messages with programs other than Firefox." that program is the solstone app on this computer. it's the only one the extension talks to, and it's how what the extension takes in gets to your journal.
the solstone extension takes in nothing from private windows, even where your browser lets it run there. that covers this extension only.
pause any time in the solstone extension, or pause the solstone app to stop everything at once. pausing stops anything new from being taken in. removing a site, or leaving one out with "all sites", stops anything new from it. either way, what's already taken in still goes into your journal.
no account. no analytics. no telemetry.

- the text you can see, the text you'd see by scrolling, text in background tabs, some labels pages provide for screen readers and tooltips, and text the page has but doesn't show you
- each page's address, without anything after a ? or #, its title, when you were on it, and the sites its links point to
- on a mail or chat site you choose, your messages
- some words you've typed but haven't sent, and anything a site shows, even something you'd consider secret, like a code in an email
