دربارهٔ این افزونه
sed Ref is a lightweight Firefox sidebar extension offering swift, offline access to essential GNU sed commands, addressing modes, substitution patterns, branching, and common text-processing idioms.
A bit of historical context: sed (stream editor) was built by Lee E. McMahon of Bell Labs (1973-74), based on the scripting features of the interactive editor ed ("editor", 1971, by Ken Thompson) and the earlier qed ("quick editor", 1965–66, also by Ken Thompson and others at Bell Labs), and is among the first tools supporting RegEx.
sed Ref is designed for programmers, system administrators, developers, data analysts, and shell scripting enthusiasts who use the powerful stream editor sed for transforming text, in-place file editing, filtering, and automation in terminal environments.
Features:
• Comprehensive Database: 77 core sed elements covering substitution (s/// with flags g, p, w, I/i), deletion (d), printing (p, P), addressing (line numbers, ranges, patterns), in-place editing (-i), branching (b, t, T), hold/pattern space operations (h, H, g, G, x), insert/append/change (i, a, c), translation (y///), and practical real-world examples with concise descriptions.
• Smart Search: Real-time filtering by command, address, flag, or description for instant lookups.
• Compact Sidebar Interface: Space-efficient design with bold red commands, clear spacing, and hanging indents for excellent readability.
• Offline Functionality: Works entirely offline with all data stored locally.
Security-First Design:
• No Permissions: Requires zero browser permissions.
• No Data Collection: Operates completely offline - no network requests, no telemetry.
• No Tracking: No analytics or monitoring of user activity.
• Self-Contained: Built with pure JavaScript, HTML, and CSS - no external dependencies or libraries.
• Secure Implementation: Uses only safe DOM methods.
• Mozilla Compliance: Fully adheres to Manifest v2 standards and Mozilla’s privacy and security guidelines.
Perfect for rapid reference while crafting complex sed one-liners, cleaning data, reformatting logs, or automating text transformations in scripts.
