Hoverlight does not collect, store, sell or send any of your data. Everything it does happens inside your own browser.

To find the sentence under your mouse, Hoverlight reads the text of the page you are viewing, locally, at the moment you hover. That text is never saved, copied or sent anywhere. Typing areas and password fields are ignored.

Hoverlight stores only your settings (on/off, highlight colour and strength, number of context sentences, and websites where you paused it) in your browser's extension storage. It has no server, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts, and makes no network requests.
