Is this email a scam? Fred is an AI-powered email safety assistant that reads every message in your inbox and explains what it found in plain English — so you always know whether an email is safe or suspicious. HOW IT WORKS Open any email in Gmail or Outlook on the web (Yahoo Mail works too). Fred reads it automatically and shows a color-coded safety badge right in your inbox: 🟢 Safe — verified sender, no threats found 🟡 Uncertain — suspicious elements found, review before acting 🔴 Likely a Scam — do not click links, download attachments, or reply Click the badge for a full breakdown: risk score, detailed AI explanation, and every red flag Fred found. FRED EXPLAINS EVERY EMAIL — NOT JUST THE SUSPICIOUS ONES Not sure what an email is or why you got it? Fred tells you in one plain sentence: "This is an advertisement. Kohl's is trying to sell you something." "This is a bill or payment notice. It's asking you to pay." Fred also spots sponsored content, tells you whether anything needs doing, and explains confusing words like "EOB" or "ACH transfer." If an email is pretending to be your bank, Fred says exactly that. TWO-STAGE AI ANALYSIS Fred uses a layered approach that keeps safe emails fast and suspicious ones thoroughly reviewed:

AI triage — a fast AI model reads every email you open and flags anything that looks off
Deep AI analysis — flagged emails get a full threat assessment with a risk score and a detailed, plain-English explanation

The deep analysis only runs when triage flags something, so your inbox stays fast while real threats get explained.
