bcMarks — Article Highlighter Martin Chang توسط

"Guide your reading, rather than replacing it."

In the era of AI summaries, we often lose the nuance, tone, and flow of the original author. bcMarks takes a different approach: it doesn't give you a detached summary; instead, it uses advanced AI to analyze the article and beautifully highlight the most important sentences directly within the original text.

Read faster, grasp the main points instantly, and never lose the full context.

✨ Key Features
• 🟡 Multi-Level Highlighting: Automatically categorizes highlights into Core Ideas (Yellow), Supporting Arguments (Green), and Important Details (Blue) for quick visual hierarchy.
• 📋 Navigation Sidebar: A clean, built-in sidebar that lists all highlighted sentences, acting as an interactive outline that lets you quickly jump to specific sections.
• 🎯 Smart Content Extraction: Powered by Mozilla's Readability library to accurately extract the main article while ignoring ads, menus, and noise.
• 🔍 Robust Text Matching: Utilizes intelligent fuzzy matching to ensure highlights are placed perfectly on the page.
• ⚡ Bring Your Own LLM: Fully flexible! Securely connect your own Azure OpenAI or Groq API keys. (We recommend Llama 3 on Groq for lightning-fast results!)
• 🎨 Beautiful & Non-Intrusive UI: Enjoy smooth animations, aesthetic gradient highlights, and hover tooltips that feel like a native part of the web.

🚀 How It Works
1. Open any web article or blog post.
2. Click the floating "✦" button on the page or use the extension popup to start the AI analysis.
3. Within seconds, the most critical sentences are highlighted in front of you.
4. Toggle the Sidebar to see a consolidated view of all the key takeaways.

🔒 Privacy First

bcMarks is designed with privacy in mind. The extension uses your personal API keys, meaning article text is sent directly to your chosen provider (Azure or Groq). Your keys and settings are stored securely and locally in your browser, and no data is ever routed through our servers.
