Works well aside from changing the '&' to '%26'. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Works well aside from changing the '&' to '%26'.
I went to notepad++ and clicked 'Search' then 'Find'.
When the Find window opens, click the Replace' tab.
In the 'Find What' box enter %26 and in the replace box enter & .
Then Click 'Replace All' to the right of the find window.
Haven't encountered a problem yet but remember, this is very important, always make a backup.
I'll say it again.
ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP FIRST ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP FIRST ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP FIRST
Work fine but did not save the password exactly Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Seem to work as intended but for some reason did change the "&" sign in password to the letter "%26" in the save .csv file.
Wonder why it does that translation with that character, might cause some problems upon uploading them back into firefox or waterfox in my case. Have not tried. Still a a good addon.
Won't export as XML Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Many thanks! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Does not work at all Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Does not work at all. Does not offer a choice of XHTML or CSV. It creates a zero byte XHTML. This is with Firefox 45. Was great when it worked. Hasn't worked for a long time now. This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
Indispensable (first plugin I install now) !!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This should be a part of FF to begin with!
When M$ makes it impossible to save your os and you have to reinstall this is the thing that will save you hours of remembering hundreds if not thousands of sites logins!
Very good & simple extension -- I need it in Chrome Rated 5 out of 5 stars
But I need it too for Chromium (in my Debian).
Could you make one, please ? There is nothing like this one in Chrome : other tools for Chrome require an account creation and a unique and hard password :\
A Life Saver and a real handy tool Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I recently had a hard drive failure and had to restore from factory backup. Fortunately I had recent password backup on an external data backup drive which easy restored all my passwords. I also have converted the exported .CSV file to .an Excel then to a password protected PDF file which I can access on my mobile device for those times when I need to access seldom used web site and need to look up a password. - ThanksThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (22.214.171.124-signed).

Exported great for me in 43.0.1 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
If it doesn't work as XML try CSV. Both seemed fine to me tho. Great app. I checked code too, looks legit as far as I can tell, but I'm not an expert. Uninstalled after use because I'm a conspiracy theorist. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52-signed).
Great tool! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
One thing to be aware of is that the XML specs (1.0 and 1.1) prohibit "xml" as an element or attribute name. I'd rename it "export" or just have "entries" as your root. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (184.108.40.206-signed).
Хорошее и нужное дополнение Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Учитывая как Firefox чудит с сохранением паролей (в каждой новой ревизии перестаёт лиса видеть сохранённые пароли), Password Explorer позволяет сделать бекап и нормальный перенос в последующие релизы...This review is for a previous version of the add-on (220.127.116.11-signed).
Creates .XML file which is unusable Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Yes, it creates a file and stores in windows but with .xml file extension...then the xml editor program comes up with a requirement to us "schema" which I have never heard of let alone how to use..these guys need to collaborate to create a simple "upgrade-like" setup that simple folks can use? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (18.104.22.168-signed).
Great, but suffers some security features Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Great extension. CSV is unavailable on my Linux Mint sandbox (only XML is shown). And I guess it should ask for Master Password (if it is set) on every export or import attempt. Moreover would be gorgeous to have CLI version of this extension/utility to run scheduled backups! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (22.214.171.124-signed).
It works on Firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars
It works exactly as described on Firefox. I wish I could have it on Seamonkey though as I am switching browsers. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (126.96.36.199-signed).
Passwords, WinXP to Linux Mint, a breeze Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Thanks Justin and Jorge - I was looking for a way to get my FF passwords into a new installation of Linux Mint (on a different computer), found this, and installed it on each. I exported the passwords as XML, obfuscated, directly to a flash drive, straight from the Options dialog immediately after installing, then imported them directly from the flash drive to the Linux machine. Couldn't have been easier. Tested it by going to a few sites where I have automatic logins, and it's worked perfectly AFAIK. Shame to uninstall it, but it's not something I need there all the time. However, it doesn't even require a restart, so it's no bother if I needed it again. I didn't want to use Sync and trust the cloud with passwords, and I didn't want to transfer my whole profile, just bits of it. The file on the flash drive can now be deleted, or even destroyed if I was paranoid about it being recovered. Using Firefox 42. Great work, thanks again. Now just need to do the same with my tabs and groups! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52-signed).

Migrate Password from Mozilla 31 Rated 3 out of 5 stars
I cannot migrate password from M31 to M38...
Maybe I did sothing wrong, but simply exported with PWExporter 1.2.1 in .xml and when I try to import on M38 with version 1.3.1 it stays a loooooooooooong time on import window.
In addition I downloaded from git version 1.2.1 XPI file but I cannot install it on M31 because I receive the message that M31 is not supported...
