Easy Image Blocker

has lots of good options Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

This add-on has all the functionality I wanted: the ability to either block or load all images, and also when images are blocked, the ability to load an individual image. You can also choose to only load cached images, or to load images from the current domain. You can also add URLs to a white-list, to always allow images from certain domains. In the add-on options, there is also an option to let each tab have its own mode, without affecting other tabs.

The user interface could still be improved, especially the English labels and descriptions - I'm still not totally clear what some of the options are meant to do. And I did notice a few problems with the whitelist - but I'm not sure if those are bugs, or whether I'm not yet understanding how it is intended to work.

Manually sort folders

easy to use and it works! Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

I've used this both for reordering the accounts, and for reordering the Local folders, and both work great.

Change Profile's Window Icons

I wish this add-on could continue to work going forward Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

This add-on allows you to easily distinguish which profile each browser window is using, when you have multiple profiles. Each profile can be assigned a different icon, which then is shown on the task-bar entries. This is exactly what I want, now that I'm using multiple profiles.

As the developer mentions, the add-on may not work for much longer due to the new add-on signing process.

When you select which icon files you want shown, the add-on copies them to the chrome/icons/default folder under the add-on's root folder. This causes those icons to be used when the browser is restarted with the current profile. But since copying the files there technically changes the add-on, this causes the add-on to no longer validate as "signed", from what I understand.

I see a few possible work-arounds for Firefox version 44+:

1. Users could switch to using the Firefox Developer Edition or Nightly builds, or the unbranded version of the Release build, along with setting xpinstall.signatures.required to false. This would however allow any unsigned add-ons to be installed, not only this one. There isn't a way to override the setting only for specific add-ons.

2. Developers could create multiple non-configurable versions of the add-on, each of which would use a single set of hard-coded icons. Then install a different version of the add-on under each profile. This is the option I see myself using.

3. Users could install Firefox to multiple folders, and use a different one for each profile. Then they could override the default icons via the install's browser\chrome\icons\default folder.

New Tab Override (WebExtension)

new tab override Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

I initially installed this add-on a few months ago. There were 2 other similar add-ons available, but this one worked best for me. One of the other add-ons was slower - you could see the default new tab page pop up and then be replaced by the desired page. The other add-on had similar performance as this one, but lacked the option of configuring any webpage as the new tab page.

All 3 add-ons had an issue of showing a flash of white when when a new tab was being opened, before it was overlayed with my dark-background home page. I got around this by changing the background color as mentioned in (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=2989135) - by creating a new "userChrome.css" file in folder [Firefox profile]/chrome, with content "browser { background-color: #000 !important; }"

Today after upgrading to FF 43.0.1, this add-on is no longer working. I hope the author will be able to update it so that it works again!

NextVid Stopper for YouTube

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

This addon does exactly want I wanted - it automatically switches the new autoplay toggle to the off position after the current Youtube video starts playing. I no longer have to scramble to click Cancel when the video ends to prevent another video from automatically playing.

Comeback View Menuitems

thanks! Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Thank you for creating this little add-on to add back Reload to the View menu! I don't know why the Firefox developers saw fit to remove it. I kept being thwarted every time my fingers typed Alt-V-R and it wasn't working anymore. Now it works again.

This add-on provides exactly what I was looking for - a context menu option for choosing which browser to open links with.
I am now using it with both Firefox and Thunderbird, on 64-bit Windows 7.
Tip 1: The add-on Homepage explains how to create a "Launchy.xml" file for manually configuring the context menu items. A tab in the Add-on Options shows the path of the chrome folder into which the launchy.xml file should be placed. If there is no chrome folder in that location, create the folder.
Tip 2: If the Launchy context menu indicates that no applications were found, it may be due to a syntax problem in the launchy.xml file. Don't include double quotes around the program path. Backslashes and spaces within the program path seem to be ok. After updating the launchy.xml file, close Thunderbird and restart it for the changes to get picked up.

The add-on works fine, but the functionality isn't what I was expecting. I thought that it was for configuring the referring URL that would get sent FROM a particular site, rather than the URL that is sent TO the site. It might help if the add-on's description were updated to clarify this.

Advanced URL Builder

Very Useful Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

This add-on is very useful! It lets me easily look up words in dictionaries, look up addresses in Google Maps, and translate text, among other possibilities.

This add-on's functionality is similar to the DictionarySearch add-on, but with some extra features, such as the option to open the results in a new window rather than a tab. It also uses a subfolders in the context menu, whereas DictionarySearch puts everything at the top level of the menu, which can make it cluttered.

- If using the option to show results in a new window, any pipe symbols in the URL can cause a problem. So replace them by %7C.
For example, for Google Translate, use this URL:

- The selected text gets truncated, due to the add-on's use of the getBrowserSelection() function. Updating the code to instead use content.getSelection() avoids the text being truncated. I'm using Firefox 8, so I can't guarantee that function would work in earlier versions.

Translate This!

Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas

The Translate Page function works great. But the "Translate This Selection" does not work for me - when I select the context menu item, nothing happens. I am running Firefox 8.0.1 on Windows 7 64bit.

Very Useful Add-on Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Thank you, I was looking for something like this! When viewing photos and videos, I have to switch my monitor's settings to very bright in order to be able to see them well, but then having a a white page background hurts my eyes. So being able to easily switch the page colors is very useful for me.

The only draw-back I've found is that some sites like YouTube use the user's text color by default, even when overriding the background color. Note that this is a problem with the website, not with the add-on - the problem occurs even without the add-on installed. So if your settings are a black background and yellow text, for example, then when viewing that site with the page-specified settings, you may get (their) white background and (your) yellow text, which is not a good combination. But since this add-on makes it easy to toggle between the page settings and my own settings, that's not a big problem for me.
