Update for my previous review:
You are right. It did not work on Firefox26. The last working FF version with the old google toolbar is FF 25.01.
Also with the tweak of Tab Mix Plus you will lose the ability to drag a tab to put it on another monitor. (Actually it can be done but it will leave an empty tab that you can't close unless you restart FF.)
My review Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas
Only reason I am using googlebar is because I updated to FF 26.0 and although I can get Google Toolbar to work with the update, it causes the new tabs button to not work and causes problems. I wish there was an autocomplete feature like Google Toolbar has, so when I type something suggestions show up in drop down menu. Also wish there was an auto fill option to automatically fill out a form as well and the ability to drag buttons to the toolbar or get more buttons besides what is listed in the options. I was able to do that with Google Toolbar and was one of the best features because I could type something in search box and click the YouTube button for example, and the site would show up with my results for what I was searching for. I give it 3 stars because it's just ok for me.
Missing important components of Google Toolbar Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas
There is no Password Manager which I use frequently No Autofill again I use this a lot as well and I think it didn't have a share button as well, I imagine it will improve but until then I'm sticking with the crippled(for lack of better word) version of Google Toolbar and the addiction of Fuss Google Bookmarks. Pleeeeese add key features such as I have mentioned. I love Google Toolbar but so far nothing comes close enough for me.

It looks great. I was mainly hoping for a spell checker though.
Best successor to Google Toolbar Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas
Excellent replacement for the core features of Google Toolbar. As noted by others, some features are missing, but hopefully this will be addressed in time. Meanwhile, this does not cause the problems that Google Toolbar does with more recent versions of FF.
Two requests: 1) Restore the keyboard shortcut to the search box (Alt-G); 2) Add the proper icons to the various search types.
Mostly works, but not quite Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas
Googlebar covers much of the features of the old Google Toolbar, but not quite. Some bugs/missing features (when run on Firefox 12) are:
- The search navigation buttons don't work.
- Popup menus from the toolbar have no background
- No Google Bookmarks button. The GMarks add-in is good enough, but not as nice as Google's toolbar button
- No sharing button. The Shareaholic add-in is an adequate replacement
- The GMail button asks for login information whenever you click. If I click cancel, GMail comes up OK, because the login cookie is present in the browser. It really shouldn't have to ask.
I hope the author decides to update this useful toolbar, fixing the bugs and implementing missing features.
Critical addon Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas
I use this daily, first extension I install on a new computer. Works great on SeaMonkey 2.7
A very poor substitute Puntuado con 2 de 5 estrellas
Has barely a third what GTB had. Half the existing Google search types aren't even there. But also, no sharing buttons, no Translate button.
If you just want an easy way to get to different Google search types you would be better off with the Add To Search Bar addon. Or right-click and do Add A Keyword For This Search and then you can e.g. "google stuff" or "gmaps address" etc from the location bar.
Not as Broken as You Think in FF 8 Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas
What I found was that I don't always get the "null" search result, and when I do, if I open, or switch to, an empty tab for the active tab, it will work after all. This is still the best add-on for the job.

Image search broken. When you enter search words then click the image search icon (the half white/red canister, whatever that is), it appears to work, but then throws you to google.com with nothing there.
Doesn't FULLY work with Firefix 8 Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas
I have used this toolbar for years and have previously edited it to work with each version of Firefox. Unfortunately, it appears that the manual search fundtion is now broken. Whilst I can highlight a word on the page and search for it, if I manually type a word/phrase into googlebar, when I search, it replaces the details with 'null' and searches on that term instead. A previously great add-on unfortunately rendered useless :-(
Does work with FF8, too! Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas
Do you get errors, or can't you install? If the latter you must have made a mistake with the patch. I'm running Googlebar 0.9.20.05 with Firefox 8.0 without problems. I'm using it all the time. Don't tell things which aren't true.
No longer works with Firefox 8 Puntuado con 1 de 5 estrellas
Make it work for FF8
by stevenvh on November 8, 2011
To make Googlebar 0.9.20 work in Firefox 8:
1. Download the googlebar XPI
2. Open it with 7-Zip or another ZIP manager
3. Edit install.rdf and change the maxVersion value "8.*";
4. Save and let 7-Zip update the XPI
5. Drag and drop the file to Firefox
6. Restart Firefox
Nope. Doesn't work. Googlebar is presently nonfunctional as it is incompatible with FF8 and cannot be made to be compatible using the above suggestion.

Here is a modified version of Googlebar 0.9.20.05 where the ugly transparent-background popup menu is removed: http://www.mediafire.com/?dkdyclm7qyf8bn2Este usuario tiene una valoración anterior de este complemento.
Can be used with FF4 Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas
1. Download the XPI file to your hard drive (right click the download button and "save link as").
2. Change the XPI extension to ZIP
3. Unzip the file Install.rdf and open it in a text editor (notepad works)
4. Look for the line em:maxVersion>3.6.*</em:maxVersion and change it to em:maxVersion>4.5.*</em:maxVersion
5. Save the file and add it back to the ZIP
6. Rename the ZIP file back to XPI
7. Drag the XPI file into your Firefox browser window to install the add-on
this general procedure works for lots of add ons actually...
==== someone emailed me and asked me to add this ===
The Print button is broken. Google uses "books" instead of "print" now.
Involves updating a couple of lines in GooglebarOverlay.js
Changed URL "print.google" to "books.google"
and "/print?sourceid=..." to "?sourceid=..."
From (note two changes in this line):
searchURL = 'http://print.google.' + GB_USA_ONLY_DOMAIN + '/print?sourceid=mozclient&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&q=' + crit;
http://books.google.' + GB_USA_ONLY_DOMAIN + '?sourceid=mozclient&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&q=' + crit;
and a similar, shorter line before that.
Also changed print.png to new image of a book (the icon Google uses) saved as 20x20 gif with white as transparent background, renamed as .png.
Goes in | chrome | googlebar | skin | print.png

I updated this by increasing the max version in the Intall.rdf file. You have to open the xpi file first using a zip program like jzip and then edit the install.rdf using notepad. Change the line that says maxVersion to say 4.0 between the arrows like so: >4.0<. Make you are doing it in the spot below where it says Firefox. Below that there are also lines for the Mozilla Suite, Seamonkey, and Netscape. Seem to be working fine since I updated it. When you close jzip and it asks you if you want to "update archive" do that as well and then you just have to install the xpi using the addon manager. You might also have to use internet explorer to download the xpi from somewhere on the internet. I don't know of any way to do it here at the addons page. I am only subtracting one star because typing in the search field is so slow. I don't even type in it that much anymore. Just hit the google button and go to google. Much faster typing it in there.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.9.20.03). Este usuario tiene una valoración anterior de este complemento.
suddenly working on FF4 RC Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas
As it says, Not Compatible with FF4. I didn't uninstall it though. And FF4 refused to open my saved xpi. But just now I installed this theme:
Office Black :: Add-ons for Firefox
And after the restart it suddenly appeared. Yay, I love it!
BTW, after getting Office Black, not only did this Googlebar come back, but so did FEBE, Nightly Tester Tools, CopyURL+, Cacheviewer and Copy All URLs. Maybe more too that I just haven't noticed yet. ELECTRONS!

A good tool. I like it better than Google's as it is a bit simpler. Suggestions stopped working though, this is a necessary feature.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.9.20.03).
