I thoroughly recommend this one if you use Facebook regularly. I've been using it for a while now, since before it became available as a stand-alone extension, and between this and Adblock Plus my Facebook time is now a lot less irritating. Allows configurable removal of application spam from your news feed along with most of the annoying automated events: like someone changing their profile pic again, making friends with someone you've never heard of, or liking a dozen pointless pages for idiots. Also allows removal of Facebook Places notifications, which was a godsend after some of my more excitable friends took to informing the world that they were at work, eating pizza or on the lavatory. Plus it lets you remove most of the really irritating right-hand boxes -- like, for example, the "Get Connected" and "Suggestions" boxes -- so you're no longer constantly subjected to annoyances like incessant whining over how everyone except you uses Friends Finder, or endless pictures of people you don't know but might for some inexplicable reason want to make friends with anyway. You can also resize the default font, which has made things much more pleasant since Facebook arbitrarily decided to set it too small to read without squinting. This is well worth adding and I'm glad to see it's finally available through the normal Firefox add-on process. However, given the regularity with which Facebook rolls out ill-considered changes to its platform you ought to check for updates on the fbpurity.com website regularly rather than rely solely on Firefox to notify you that there's a new version on here.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (4.0.0).
I really liked the load-and-forget unobtrusiveness of the old TACO, and like everyone else I was utterly horrified by the bloated Abine crapware that replaced it without warning. So many thanks for restoring TACO to do what we all originally chose to download it for.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (1.0.1).
I accept an update to a nice, unobtrusive little privacy add-on I've had for a while now -- thinking it'll maybe contain a few new opt-out cookies -- and what I get is an enormous invasive multi-megabyte piece of bloatware that wants to take over my entire browser security, and which throws endless pop-up windows to tell me how hard it's working doing things I never asked for or needed. Unbelievable; and now permanently uninstalled.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (3.02).
Meh...apologies for my last review. I posted in frustration at being unable to download the third update in a row and only *then* did I find the developer reponse pointing out the third party cookie problem. Enabled third party cookies and it downloaded just fine. This is a very annoying bug; but apologies again to the developer and here's hoping Firephorm buggers up BT's attempts to foist directed advertising on me.
I've rapidly come to love this add-on. I couldn't imagine going back to web surfing without NoScript, Adblock Plus and CookieCuller. The only drawback I've found is more my fault than a problem with the software: scripts are so ubiquitous and it's so easy to forget NoScript is there that I don't always remember to check and whitelist essential scripts when I go somewhere new. It can be a bit worrying if an online transaction like a payment or a bank transfer hiccups because you've forgotten to allow the scripts to run, and you're left unsure whether the transaction has gone through or whether you ought to repeat it. Still, it only takes that happening once to remind you about enabling stuff that isn't obviously related to advertising or usage tracking. So a very worthy 5 stars for this great add-on.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (1.7.1).
Unobtrusive and efficient, and unlike the commercial ad-blocking software I used to use with IE7 it doesn't break the layout of my BT-Yahoo account page when I have to check my mail over the web. Between this brilliant bit of software and the NoScript add-on I wish I'd switched to FireFox a lot earlier now than I did.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.7.5.5).
