Love this one! Great button text contrast and it's fairly even. It'll be my New Year's theme. Many thanks!
I'm not sure why the left side is completely black. I think the entire skyline would have been better. Outside of that, it's very nice. Love the button text contrast!
A nice one, but I don't particularly care for the cornflower button text. It's difficult to see. Other than that, I like this.
Very good! The button text is easily seen which is a problem with many of these.
It's good, but the text is really light. I'd prefer a better contrast on the text.
I've used colorful tabs for so many years. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am that it now has to go. I'm fairly certain that this is an error, but I don't know what really happened. The update I just got makes my tabs completely unreadable and I can't fix it! There is no setting for us to choose our own font colors, to fix it ourselves.
Additionally, to get any support whatsoever users MUST join yet another forum. NOT! I'm sick to death of being forced to visit their personal sites. Either offer support here, or don't put your addon here! That should be the rule for all of them.
Say goodnight Colorful Tabs!
Now that I've tinkered around with Tab Mix Plus' tab color settings, I've come to see that I don't even need Colorful Tabs anymore.
Originally I posted a dismal review, but I finally managed to get this to work. I had to download a newer version from Sourceforge AND upgrade/install current Java AND uninstall previous java. Phew!
All that said, this is an amazing addon and such a time saver. It still needs a little tweaking, but that's a minor issue when it comes to all the data it automates. I know Frank has really worked hard on this.
This addon is legendary as for as the Living Cookbook community is concerned.
Many thanks Frank!
First off, @bruceb: You can add any customized code. Tools > Options > Extensions > BBCodeXtra > Options > Custom tags then add them.
I do have a suggestion though. I would LOVE to be able to import/export settings. I use several computers and Firefox's browser sync doesn't sync settings. I could keep a copy of the settings in dropbox and quickly upload it to any computer.
Many thanks though! This has been one of my favorites for years. I cannot live without it.
Carefully read all comments before using and even more carefully read WOT's responses to reviews. I thought it was a great idea when it started, but then I saw that things like certain news sites were being downgraded to red warnings as well as actual official politicians websites. Yes, none of us truly trust politicians but spare me the violins. Official government sites, and large media outlets, are not malicious! They're not phishers nor do they have adult content and so forth.
When I complained (we're talking about American law and justice here), just as you'll note here in replies to reviews, I was basically told to "get over it" in thinly veiled polite words.
There is a difference between trusting websites and whether or not you agree with their content. WOT is a total fail in the end because users are not saying whether or not they trust the sites (despite that WOT tells you they are), they are saying whether or not they agree with the content, which is an entirely different matter.
WOT refuses to address this problem and blithely insists it's all about trust and this is an outright lie.
In the end, I have to agree with everyone else. Use your best judgement, don't do business with anyone online unless you Google reviews for said company and get many varied favored reviews, use good anti-virus software and stay away from porn sites. lol! If you do that, you'll be fine and without the slant of WOT.
In the WOT reviews here, I have read some things which need addressing. I do not believe that WOT makes money off of any sites to make them rated in the green. However, you must consider why users are angry enough to say that they are. People don't just run around saying such things unless they were treated unfairly.
My final example is of an Australian website which sold some veterinary items for much less than you can buy here in the states. The site is reputable. Many rescue groups recommend them, under the table. However, when my vet found out I wasn't buying theirs, he was livid. After all, he wasn't making the money, the Aussie was. He then talked about how it's counterfeit and so forth. I took my dog to another vet and tests proved they were not.
Naturally, WOT's rating for this Aussie website was in the red. Who could benefit from badly rating such a site? That is a question you must ask yourself. There is only one solution, the competition will lie to kill them off.
When I notified WOT, I received the same response as I mentioned earlier.
So there it is, you decide for yourself.
I have to agree with the other users. The problem with WOT is that many legitimate sites are flagged as harmful. For example, try going to a notable politician's website. Politics should NEVER be included in something like this.
Also, I have a vendor that I have used safely and reliably. They sell a popular product for a much cheaper price. This aggravates their competitors who have successfully flagged the site as harmful. When I notified WOT of this problem, their response was close to "So what? It's the way it works so get over it." Granted it was more kindly put, but the message was the same.
WOT is not really all that trustworthy. I only keep it to combat false negatives. That's the ONLY reason.
Pretty yes, but it doesn't play nicely with common addons. I can't even organize my Bookmarks without it crashing and I only use Xmarks.
Nope. I had to uninstall to get Firefox back to normal. I'll not use it again. It's way too much of a pain.
Works fine in 3.5.2! I've had this extension since practically its inception and not once have I ever had an issue. It works just as promised, BUT...
If I had to make a wishlist item, it would be to allow me to make my own tags for things that I frequently do or use. This has been a requested feature for years (and not just from me), but it never comes to fruition. For that reason, I give it a 4 and not a 5.
Update: I was directed to the latest version which is pending approval and fixes the minor issue.
I have to say that I am loving this theme more than any other theme I've ever used. This one is a keeper!
RedDwarf has no idea what he's talking about. Since this extension is an enhanced version of Forecast Fox (one I've used for YEARS) then I can say with authority that it's used Accuweather for a VERY long time. Yes, for a short while they used weather.com, but weather.com made it difficult and limited the use of their site. Not very friendly at all.
So... RedDwarf be sure to research something before you post. It's been at least 3 years since Forecastfox used weather.com.
Works like a charm!
yetsune: You're 100% WRONG. This was updated in July 2008 and your post was made in March 2009. This means that it had only been 8 months since the update, not the year and a half that you claimed.
I have absolutely ZERO screen issues and the download is perfect. I'm even using Ubuntu so that says a lot.
Gina: You're brilliant and you're very missed at Lifehacker!
I'm not having any problems here as others have reported. I'm on Firefox Firefox/3.0.10 and it does just fine.
It's worth noting however that even the official tinyurl.com site has trouble with SOME URLs. Not all, but some.
I've tested this with a variety of sites and it does what it's supposed to comparably with the official tinyurl.com site.
Great help, this extension!
The only serious issue, which makes me unable to use it, is that the pop ups from Forecast Fox and Gmail manager are washed out and unreadable.
Other than that this is very well done! It looks fantastic with Colorful Tabs.
I love this extension! I can't wait to see how this one grows. I love its simplicity.
If I could add to a wish list, it would be to add favorite shows. Perhaps a permanent word search or something.
Other than that though, this is an amazing little addon that's very helpful.
This is quite helpful, but I'd really like to see a way to insert favorite code tags. A bit more customization would make it A1 perfect. Otherwise, I find this one of my most invaluable add-ons.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.2.5.6).
I have to uninstall it for now as it no longer works. It worked fine up until 0.60. I would've emailed you to let you know, but you don't have anywhere on your site to notify you. Good luck with that.Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.60).
