FEBE

Here's how to close the Error Console... Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

For those reporting that they can't close the Error Console, it took me a bit to figure out, but do this. Open FEBE Options. Click on the Advanced Tab. Click the Miscellaneous sub-tab. Uncheck "FEBE Debug Mode". Excellent Add-on!

REPLY TO AUTHOR - Thanks Chuck. Actually I was so shocked when this happened. I thought it was caused by another extension that I had installed called Console² 0.9. The screen looked very similar except it usually opens in its own box. I quickly closed the FEBE Welcome tab because I thought something was going on with that extension and I immediately disabled it. When that didn't fix it, I uninstalled it, but alas, it was still there even after restarting Firefox. Then that's when it hit me - it must be FEBE because it was the most recently updated add-on and just presented the Welcome page. So I poked around in the options and found the Debug box checked. And I didn't realize this was a major update until now. It just automatically updated and few of us endusers follow version numbers that closely. The ironic thing is, I'm usually one of those people that always read the changes in a new version whenever an updated add-on presents a welcome or thanks for updating page. But this time I was so distracted and frustrated by the Error Console and thinking it was another extension, that I immediately closed the tab to see if it would also close the console.

Searchbar Autosizer

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Does everything promised except for one thing... if you use the Assistant, it will not keep the setting "Enlarge searchbar on first strike". It will work just after you first set it, but after restarting Firefox, it reverts back to "Size incrementally, to each letter". Is there a way I can make it keep the enlarge on first strike option permanently? It used to work in earlier versions prior to 2.0. Also, this option cannot be selected without using the Assistant, to the best of my knowledge.

UPDATE: Yes Mr. Cox, it does seem to be fixed in v2.0.8 (even after restarting Firefox), as long as the minimum searchbar width isn't set at -1. Thank you.

Extension List Dumper

Great add-on. Has always worked well. However, since last update, Plugins no longer show on the Options screen, only Extensions and Themes. However, the Dump List button still appears in the Plugins section (thank goodness).

AutoCopy 2

Excellent! Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

This is an update to a previous review on January 1, 2012. I had stated that it was not working when trying to copy bulleted text (in FF 9). It is now working in FF10 for me. Great add-on!

AutoCopy 2

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

This is a great add-on, and works for 99% of what I need it to do, so I still give it 5 stars. However, I have just stumbled upon something (and others may already know this)... it will not copy bulleted text (text enclosed in <li></li> HTML Tags).

For example, here on the AutoCopy 2 page, all text under "About this Add-on" can be copied, except the text preceded by a bullet. I stumbled across this on this site, funnystatus.com, as it was driving me nuts as to why I couldn't copy Facebook statuses from there (and I could in the past). Then I realized I could copy any text on that page as long as it wasn't bulleted (and all of the statuses are). I have found that if I enable the option "Copy automatically in text boxes", I can then copy bulleted text. However, I'd rather not enable that option (especially since having it enabled won't let me paste an address into the address bar, but instead copies the existing one).

Is there any way around this and allow the copying of bulleted text (short of using Ctrl-C, which is what I've had to do on the above mentioned site, but 9 times out of 10 I forget to do it, and when I get back to Facebook, I'm not pasting what I was expecting to paste.)

Still love the add-on. Keep up the great work!

Leszek, you've fixed the address bar issue in v1.1. Excellent! 5 stars!

AutoCopy 2

I disagree that it is the default behavior of Firefox to copy the text highlighted in the Address Bar automatically. I uninstalled AutoCopy 2 and reinstalled AutoCopy 1.0.1, where I had edited the <em:maxVersion> in the Install.rdf file to work in Firefox 8, and AutoCopy works just fine when pasting into the Address Bar. I've used this extension for years, and once this is fixed in AutoCopy 2, it'll be perfect again.

AnyColor

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

In older versions of AnyColor & Personas, I could use them both together, and edit the Personas themes to suit me using AnyColor (and I could also use other themes than the Firefox default). I can accept using the Firefox default, but I just cannot get AnyColor & Personas to work together anymore. I can get one or the other, but that's it. I've followed 'justbrowsing's' tips exactly, and they just won't work together for me with FF3.6. I love AnyColor, but loved being able to use it with Personas and change some of the weird text colors that came with some Personas. AnyColor alone though, is great!!!!

Xmarks Sync

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

This is my favorite add-on. I also use Xmarks for IE. Keeps 3 computers synchronized perfectly. They are fast with support and updates. A recent version added rating stars next to the Xmarks icon on the Status Bar, and they responded quickly to many objections to this, and have already issued an update to fix it and allow for a choice! Excellent product.

AnyColor

UPDATE: In my previous post I stated that I couldn't figure out how to get Personas Gallery to work with this, even after following Stapuft post. I figured out what I did wrong - you MUST select the default Firefox theme. I was using CrystalFox Qute, an excellent Theme. As soon as I switched to the Default Theme, the Personas Gallery started functioning, even without Personas installed.

AnyColor

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Great add-on, but I still can't get the Personas feature to work. Stapuft, I did all the steps exactly as you posted, but after I uninstall Personas and restart as in steps 5 & 6, then go to the Personas gallery from the link in AnyColor, it just wants me to reinstall Personas. Wish I could get it to work.

AnyColor

I love it...but... Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

I love this add-on - excellent. But I must be doing something wrong... I can't get it to work with Personas the way you describe in your blog - I have to use one or the other as far as being able to see Personas images in the toolbar area. If I enable AnyColor (from it's Appearance Tab), the last chosen preset overrides the currently selected Personas. Your blog states, "No worries, you can apply a “persona”, open AnyColor’s options and change the colors until you’re happy. Don’t forget to save your customized appearance settings as a preset (by going to the Presets tab and clicking “New”)." But that's not working for me. This includes the Personas text and images. If it makes any difference I am using the CrystalFox Qute 3.5 theme and there seems to be no conflicts with AnyColor.

Also, I agree with an earlier reviewer suggesting that it would be great if we had a way of sharing our own custom presets. I've made some hilarious ones using animated GIF's.

This doesn't stop me from using your add-on. I love features of both AnyColor and Personas, but you are definitely on the right track. The two combined would be the ultimate add-on for changing appearance. Keep up the great work!
