Lightning

"Please do not post bug reports in reviews." Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

As stated in the tips for writing reviews:
"Please do not post bug reports in reviews. See the support section to find out where to get assistance for this add-on."

For those of you downgrading this invaluable add-on because of problems with Google Calendar, this is because of Google and NOT because of Lightning! Check out
http://blog.mozilla.org/calendar/
to find out how to resolve your Google Calendar integration issues and then please consider adding a star or two to your rating!

Xmarks Sync

One obligatory star Puntuado con 1 de 5 estrellas

I agree with all those who give this add-on one star only because it is required. Xmarks was an easy to use and reliable add-on when it was introduced for Firefox 3.x. It vanished because it couldn't be maintained and it re-appeared in this horribly unreliable version. One time it sync'd my bookmarks to oblivion and on another occasion scrambled completely scrambled them. At least the backup worked... So long, Xmarks.

Test Pilot

No connection to Mozilla Server - unable to send data Puntuado con 2 de 5 estrellas

Nicely gathers data on use of Firefox, but when it comes to sending the data, I get a connect failure to Mozilla servers. Test Pilot then automatically reminds (annoys) me later to send the data. Wazzup?

Now all those irritating changed (or absent!) subjects that screw up threads can be corrected! Très bien, merci!!!

LightningButton

Invaluable! Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Update + Reply March 26, 2012: Got it! Just goes to show how long I've been using Lightning without bothering to check on new button possibilities. Thanks for the tip! Welcome to the 5-Star Club!

Nearly almost perfect.
The only thing missing for me is a button for appointment searching - a feature which is only available via menu (i.e. not defined as a shortcut).

Interclue

InterClue vs. CoolPreviews Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas

CoolPreviews is my preference. It offers a temporary bookmark stack and is easier to use and configure (because it has fewer features perhaps; InterClue's features aren't that useful for my purposes).
Both are good and both are MISSING A TEXT SEARCH FUNCTION WITHIN THE PREVIEW WINDOW!

WAT (WebApplicationTab)

Goodbye Thunder Browse! (...so I thought!) Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas

UPDATE: (Originally 4 stars). Backward/forward navigation no longer works (TB 10.0.2 + WAT 1.3.3/4) with keyboard shortcuts (=> minus one star), but it used to! (See https://github.com/teramako/wat/issues/4). To file or comment on a bug you need to have an account at the obscure github or send an email to the developer (=> almost minus another star)
-------
GREAT for opening a hyperlink in a TB Tab without that notorious monster, Thunder Browse! Simple sleek, fast and (so far) very compatible! Icons for forward/backward navigation would be additionally useful, but at least the typical keyboard shortcuts work for this purpose.

Slim Add-ons Manager

<-- More Scrolling --> Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas

This turned out to not be as useful as I had hoped. True you see more add-ons vertically, but this comes at the expense of having to scroll horizontally to activate, deactivate or remove some add-ons depending on how long their titles are and on the available screen real-estate (@ 1024 horiz. resolution this becomes arduous).
I had hoped this function would reduce the (by default) ENORMOUS amount of blank space (to the left of the add-on list) and HUGE lettering Mozilla introduced into the add-on manager for TB and FF.
SAM is useful when size reducing [CTRL-] the add-on manager, but this setting is unfortunately not saved in TB/FF. SAM could improve on this by saving the last zoom setting or by carving away the gaping chasm between the add-on categories on the left and the add-on list on the right.

Follow Reply

Very nice, but sometimes not working Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas

March 24, 2012 (update): A developer contacted me regarding my (now retracted) post that this extension doesn't seem to work anymore (TB 11.0). After further testing I found it does still work, just not always. Output from error console on failure:
-----
Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER) [nsIMsgDatabase.GetMsgHdrForKey]" nsresult: "0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://followreply/content/followreply.js :: <TOP_LEVEL> :: line 27" data: no]
-----
This error is generated from Follow Reply (FR) on an email in the Inbox Group in which the reply is in the IMAP Sent folder. A search function isn't even started by FR. A reply is found on this mail if FR is performed in the account Inbox folder, but FR does work from other grouped folders.

January 23, 2012: Very nice, indeed, even if exceedingly slow on IMAP accounts having a lot of folders. The performance could be improved by being able to specify which folders should be searched for replies and a possibility to cancel a lonnnngggg search.
It would be great to see this developed further!

Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar Plus

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Been using this simple and straightforward add-on (or rather it's progenitor, Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar, since FF3.x (currently using 5.0) without any trace of sponsored links ever!

Extension List Dumper

Taking a dump was never better ;-) Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

This is a well-thought-out extension and helped me make an add-on collection much easier than Mozilla does! The export list is extremely thorough, covering info such as add-on version, description, and compatibility as well as application (browser/mail) info and date of installation. You can select whether all, active, inactive or incompatible extensions should be listed in text, html, csv (semi-colon or comma delimited) or BBCode format. The list can be saved, printed directly or simply copied to the clipboard! Excellent and simple!

Clipple

Limited usefulness Puntuado con 2 de 5 estrellas

The idea is good and the tool is easy to use, but how often does one want to paste copied text into Firefox?!! Without a saving feature or mini-editor for the Clipple clipboard, it is exhausting to paste text segments copied from Firefox into, for example, an email or a document. (In fact, it's easier without Clipple!).

Office Black

Another "nice, but..." Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas

Nice clean theme on TB 5, but the "From" header field appears at the end of the email's Tool Bar line in open emails instead of, as usual, at the far left above the "Subject".

Deselect on Delete

Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas

I hadn't used the TB tabs for messages because deleting a tabbed message wouldn't close the tab. For this reason I couldn't use many of the tabbing features on the QuickFolders add-on. With Deselect-On-Delete installed, simply pressing DEL on a tabbed message not only deletes the message but closes the tab as well.

Simple, effective and... almost perfect. I use Lightning (calendar) in a tab as well. It would be nice to return to the previously accessed tab or first tab (Inbox) when the tab closes on delete instead of the last open tab.
