  • i have tried to install by changing max version , and it does not work, creates empty file
  • Открываем winrar расширение.
    Открываем install.rdf блокнотом
    Делаем 133.6a1pre
    прозапас =)

Сохраняем и ставим в firefox вплоть до 133 версии
  • Typical! The only webpage save add-on... and it's not updated to Firefox 24. I NEED this because of Firefox's useless 'download error' every time I attempt to download a complete webpage.
  • After viewing the reviews below, I tried the "Mozilla Archive Format, with MHT and Faithful Save" addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/ar/firefox/addon/mozilla-archive-format/) and it seems to work semi-perfectly as it doesn't download all the resources in CSS files. It downloads only the resources used by the browser (for example, only the used web fonts are downloaded, not all the fonts referenced in the CSS file).

ScrapBook (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/scrapbook/) does better as it downloads everything (you will find the downloaded files in a folder called ScrapBook inside your browser profile directory, but ScrapBook doesn't do "faithful" save as it transforms the content a bit.

At last, I tried HTTrack (http://www.httrack.com/page/2/en/index.html) , and frankly found it disappointing. Maybe I didn't configure it properly.
  • Thanks Satovey for the tip about changing maxversion #, but how does one DO that in the binary XPI file that Firefox uses? I couldn't find anything with a hex editor.
How does one do an install from the source files, where install.rdf file exists for editing?
  • You can make save complete work with Firefox 19 by editing the .rdf file and change the version number to 19 or above.

If this stops working for you as it did me, verify that the file type is set to:

    => Webpage, complete (*.htm, *.html)

    Hope this helps.
  • I need this urgent for firefox 17. Can anything be doned. helps plaes
  • This is my loveable add on. I want this addon to all latest updated firefox versions. its not working for latest versions. Please help me anybody found equivalent to this add on.
  • There's an alternative: Windows HTTrack Website Copier ( http://www.httrack.com/ )

I would like to preserve css and images (including path) when saving so when I'm done with css modifications and upload, nothing breaks. It does the job. I wish there was a plugin for Firefox.

Also note that when using program mentioned above, by default it downloads the whole site. So during download wizard, choose "Set options -> Limits -> Maximum mirroring depth: 2

Then you can specify what kind of files to download. I exlcude all and then add .jpg, .css etc. Filter is as follows (under Scan rules):

And last but not least, under Build, you can specify file name patters. Cuz in Drupal there are ?jk3j23 after css links and they are saved like basejk3j23.css. So to remove this, just name your patter to this: %h%p/%n.%t

    Have fun!
  • use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/scrapbook instead,
  • FINALLY -- I tried the addon link posted above by Paolo -- And It works as stated -- Give it a try as a replacement for "save complete" After install you get more options under your "save page as" menu - choose the "save complete" option and your good as gold - the app creates a .htm page and folder with all images (css images included) and associated files.BIG round of applause for Paolo Amadini, Christopher Ottley. YEAAAA!! now I can upgrade my Firefox.
  • I am the current maintainer of the Mozilla Archive Format extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/mozilla-archive-format/).

Some time ago, the author of Save Complete developed a new version integrated with Mozilla Archive Format. It can save complete web pages accurately, even if you don't want to create a MAFF or MHTML web archive. There are also various enhancements made to the integrated version over the years, including the ability to save pages with frames.

To use it, you only have to install Mozilla Archive Format and configure it to use the integrated version of Save Complete. You can then use the standard save dialog of Firefox or SeaMonkey to save your pages accurately.

I hope this information is useful to Save Complete users until the stand-alone version is updated.
  • any one know the alternatives... ! for this addon
  • A nice alternative to Scrapbook, and I love that it replaces Firefox's built-in command. My context menu is already crowded! Two nice tweaks would be the ability to change the storage folder -- right now it only saves to Firefox's default download location -- and the ability to choose .html or .htm for the extension. But those are minor nits.
  • The download hung up completely when I tried option to save complete page as from file menu. This extension is not working properly with firefox 3.6.10.
  • I don't really like giving not so good reviews, but i hate to see old, outdated addons. Not sure if its because its an old addon and never been updated in awhile, but ive just tried this and there's no difference between this and the firefox save page. Oh maybe there was a folder created but the contents of the folder were no different to each other, both contained the exact same contents. So Pretty useless addon, that should probably be updated or removed.

Please forgive the 1 star. Suppose everyone has there own opinion eh!

1 star for the idea though!
2bad, it's possible that you had the "Replace Firefox Built-in Save" preference enabled. I just downloaded the latest nightly built of Firefox and ran a full save of a test page I created for proper webpage saving. The built-in "Save As, Complete" turns out terrible - many of the images are missing and the fonts don't show up properly.

You got my hopes up, but Firefox definitely does not save properly without extensions yet.
  • Abandoned.
  • Why was this add-on never updated?
  • Does what it says on the box.
  • Wow!
  • works nice!
but would be great if there was an option to reproduce original file structure, like

and put all the files to their folders respectively
  • This always stops short of saving any webpage.

I had all the options checked and even tried unchecking some. Still no luck.

This would be a great extension if it worked. This is ver. 1.0.0
If you have pages that it fails on, please send a link to them to me and I will resolve any issues you are having. Otherwise, I don't know what is causing it to fail.
  • 1.0.0 doesn't work:
    - no menu item
    - error when opening save complete config dialog
