¿Por qué se creó ProCon Latte Content Filter?
ProCon was initially developed as a personal challenge when Firefox 1.5 was released. I wanted to learn something while in school. The idea was to create a simple content filter that would deny access to certain Web sites according to certain rules. At that time (c. 2006) ProCon was simply an improved version of BlockXXX, an extension by Tom Christensen; however, with great suggestions and a surprising support of the user community I was able to improve the filter.
Cuál es el futuro de ProCon Latte Content Filter
As some already know, I have been working on the next version for a while already. This has become more of a long-term version, since I try to squeeze its development after school and work. The version to come is to maximize the use of the browser's latest features in order to speed the detection of blacklisted elements (not only Web pages). Other improvements would fall under the maintenance of lists in corporate settings (and possibly remotely*), the declutter of the current User Interface to accommodate those users who have small screen devices (mobile phones, PDAs, netbooks, etc . . .), and many other improvements.
*Implementation yet to be decided.
