Works great!
Can you please reduce the size of the toolbar icon? On FF 37.0.2, it seems to increase the height of the toolbar.
Edit: Thanks for the quick fix. 1.1.1 seems to have fixed the issue.

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (1.1.0).

You are right, this is a bug in firefox versions below 40. I didn't notice this before, because I use my own theme which does not have this problem.

I just uploaded a new version which includes a workaround for this issue: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/flashdisable/versions/1.1.1

Im so glad someone else made this! Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

I just wanted something to set "ask" and "off" without me going the the motions of the normal way.

At first it seemed like no-one made it! However reading the comments its in his beta! :) yessssssss

I thought I would have to learn how to toggle the about:config "plugin.state.flash" somehow (I suck at coding!)

Can I ask what part of your code actually sets these values? is it the simplePrefs.prefs.xxxxx

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (1.0.0).

Thanks for your review! ;-)

SimplePrefs are the settings of the addon itself, i.e. the three checkboxes in this case. The flash plugin is managed through the PluginStateManager class, see https://github.com/klemens/ff-flashdisable/blob/master/lib/PluginStateManager.js.

If you have any feedback regarding the beta, don't hesitate to write me an email!

Great add-on. Lots of potential with click-to-play feature Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Simple and effective, but here's another one who thinks that switching to "ask to activate" instead of "always activate" would be much better. This add-on combined with the "clicktoplay per-element" would be MUST HAVE.

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (1.0.0).

I just released a new beta that supports the 'Ask to Activate' feature. You can install it by switching to the 'Development Channel' on the bottom of the addon page.

If you have any feedback of find some bugs, please open in issue at the github repo or contact me via email. Thanks!

Just keeps getting better! Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Thanks for the update. I just sent you another donation. Keep up the good work of helping to suppress Flash Player! The more we encourage web designers to use alternative video players, the sooner we can free ourselves from dependence on Crash Player.

Great add-on, very helpful developer Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Very useful add-on. Works great: enables and disables flash at the hit of a button. Can be set to reload the page when the enable button is pressed.

I had a problem that turned out to be related to one of my other add-ons and the dev was quick to reply to the original version of this review and to find a remedy. Thanks for your effort!

This is probably because the icon is a vector image in the new version which does not have any size, but fills up the available space.
If you tell me which firefox version you are using (and which addons that modify the user interface), I will try to reproduce this.

I Found the Missing FlashDisable icon. Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Long story short. It was me.

In trying to locate the missing icon, I made temporary changes to the Classic Theme Restorer (CTT) extension. When I restarted Firefox, a CCT screen asked if I wanted to make the changes effective. I answered Yes, and Voila!, the missing icon was where it was before the FlashDisable upgrade.

Five stars to a most useful extension.

FlashDisable - Ask to activate Puntuado con 3 de 5 estrellas

Firefox offers 3 options for flash (always/never activated and ask) so it would be nice if you could add this third (ask) option to button. Like for other users for some (older/synced) profiles the Disable Flash icon is crossed out so I can't see its status (only mouse pointer can show me tip enable/disable).

I am planning to implement the click_to_play support in one of the next version (https://github.com/klemens/ff-flashdisable/issues/1). However this has not been high on my priority list, your are actually the first one to ask for it.

Today I released the new version 1.0.0 which includes some significant changes and bugfixes. It would be nice if you could test if your problems still occur with this new version. If yes, please open an issue at the github repo or write me an email.
Thank you!

FlashDisable 1.0.0beta1 makes disappearing button a thing of the past Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Yay! The button is now in residence when I start Firefox v. 29.0.1. I've never had the courage to try a beta version of anything before, so I'm being *very brave* here. :-) Thanks.

Activation/Deactivation button still disappearing on Firefox 29 Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Do you have to make a change to correct this behavior? If so, please do this as A.S.A.P. I use this all the time but the disappearing button is "SO ANNOYING" I will have to turn elsewhere if it isn't corrected.

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.9.4).

Yes, indeed I have to update the addon to use the new api.
I am planning to release the new version by the end of the week, so stay tuned! :-)

Edit: Took a little longer than expected, but the new 1.0.0 beta 1 is ready for testing. :-)

Activation/Deactivation button keeps disappearing. Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

This add-on is very good, but what reason the navigation toolbar icon keeps disappearing for? Every time I start Firefox I have to click the "Move" button in the add-on's options. It's very annoying. Version 0.9.4 on Firefox 25.0.1. Thanks.

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.9.4).

You are probably using another addon which does not use the api to add its button to the toolbar properly. (eg. Ghostery)
Currently there is not much I can do about it, but with firefox 29 there will be a new api which fixes these problems.

Youtube defaults to html5 Puntuado con 2 de 5 estrellas

As mentioned in the other review youtube immediately loads the video in html5 when flash is blocked. What is the solution? I am not in youtube html5 trial.

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.9.3).

I am sorry, but I am not sure what your problem is.
Videos on youtube without monetization will always play in html5 if flash is not enabled, regardless of whether you are in the html5 trail or not. This is default youtube behaviour and has nothing to do with my addon.

Maybe I can help you if you tell me what you are trying to achieve?

Re-post Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Got your mail Klemens Schölhorn, And checked this add-on again and found that I am using youtube html5 addon. So when I go to youtube site it gets html5 player automatically, for that reason it did not work for me. Sorry I should have checked it thoroughly before posting comment. It works for me now.
#(Previous post- Does not work on Firefox 23.1 tested on youtube.)

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.9.3).

Could you please be more specific? What does not work? Have you reload the page after enabling flash (there is a setting to do this automatically, too)? You can contact me via email if you want.
It works for me (and thousands of other users) on every firefox version since 19 on windows and linux. I just tested it again on firefox 23.0.1 and it worked well on youtube.

/edit: Tanks for retesting and updating your review!

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

Great addon, but there's a problem in Firefox Nightly (26.0a1 as of Aug. 20). The Disable Flash icon is crossed out and a tooltip says "Flash could not be found". I changed the plugin name to exactly to how it shows up in the plugin settings, and also tried the 0.9.4 beta, both didn't change anything. It works fine in Aurora (25.0a2) though, so I suspect that some change in Firefox 26.0a1 broke it.

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.9.3).

Caused by a bug in the current nightly, will be fixed with one of the next nightlies. (See your e-mail for more details)

Edit: Fixed in Nightly 2013-08-23. ;-)

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

I think Mozilla has done a good job on the nightly versions with the 'allow now' or 'allow and remember' options for the plugins, which will render this add-on unnecessary.

Edit: yo, thanks for the reply, I saw that thing on the permissions tab too. :)

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.9.3).  Este usuario tiene 2 valoraciones anteriores de este complemento.

You my be right, the new permission system looks promising.
But I am thinking about integrating this into my addon to allow the change of these options with a single click to a button, which would also allow these setting per domain.
Because when you clicked "allow and remember", to deactivate this behaviour you would have to open the site information window, find the right tab, etc... ;-)

Great Job! Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

The app I was looking for!Not only block flash, but really enable/disable it. Really cool to enjoy YouTube in HTML5 in combination with the "YouTube Flash to HTML5" addon (see Sukant Garg).

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.9.3).

Thanks! ;-)
I have also made an addon like "YouTube Flash to HTML5": https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-all-html5/
(the new version is not yet reviewed by mozilla, so has to be installed manually)

The best extension for dealing with Flash content on a page. However, with FF22, it quit shutting off the Flash elements instantly. Now you have to recycle the page. At least on my system.

Esta valoración es de una versión anterior del complemento (0.9.3).

It's not just you, I also noticed this behaviour.
However I think this is rather useful: If I have to enable Flash on a site I can immediately disable it again, so when I open new tabs, they open without flash, but I can still return to the flash-tab and use its applets.
