“notifications” – Used to send desktop notifications. For example when a new message arrives or the App is updated.
“contextMenus” – Allows adding more settings when you right-click the App icon in the browser toolbar and in the browser context menu.
“storage” – Used to save settings on your local computer.
“unlimitedStorage” – Storage is limited to 5MB of data that may not be enough to store all configs.
“webNavigation” - The extension uses iframes to allow fast switch between the social media sites. webNavigation is used to control those iframes and know the timing to insert css or js into the iframe.
“webRequest” & “webRequestBlocking” – Used to intercept some requests and modify x-frame-options or user-agent in order to provide you the mobile/smartphone version of the apps (lighter, faster, less internet consumption and run as Sidebar) and also run the webpages in a background iframe (so that you can have real-time silent notifications in the App icon on the browser toolbar as a badge counter).
“all_urls” – We cannot predict ahead of time which hosts/domains we must modify in order to provide the desired functionality detailed in the webRequest permission. It also allows you to share content (links or text) from other pages directly inside the App and send messages from various social media to a friend for example. Also used to allow intercommunication with other oinkandstuff Apps (i.e. Emoji Keyboard).
“scripting” – Used to insert the JS or CSS that the hub needs inside the Extension window (menus, messages, mini tutorial and the Theme - Skin Color filters) on the required hosts/domains.
“system.display” – Used to detect the display size and position the Extension window (the hub window and the chats that open in a window of their own).
“host_permissions” – Permission to access the hosts/domains of the chats and social apps that we must modify in order to provide the functionality detailed above, so that they can open right inside the hub and show your missed notifications on the App icon badge. Also used to allow intercommunication with other Oinkandstuff Apps (i.e. Emoji Keyboard).
“activeTab” – Permission to access the window where the Extension is running and that is shown to the user, for example to take a screenshot of it.
“declarativeNetRequest” – Used to change the response headers of the chat sites (for example x-frame-options) so that they can open right inside the hub. Only impacts the Extension Window.
“declarativeNetRequestWithHostAccess” – Used to get the iframe version of the websites, so that the chats can open right inside the hub. Only impacts the Extension Window.
“browsingData” – Used to remove the service workers of some chat websites, so that they load and run properly inside the Extension window.
“alarms” – Used to update the App icon badge every minute with your missed notifications.
