I have some proposal to expand his power.
As I understood, if this addon is able to create html from bookmarks, it shouldn't be so difficult to do opposite thing: to proceed the existed html file, to find needed bookmark, searching on titles and urls.
But this point is very important.
The strongest factor, affects the browser performance, especially restart/boot time is the total quantity of bookmarks.
So it is important to reduce it.
If it is possible proceed html file like existed bookmarks, the user will be able to create html files, save them, and then - to delete the saved in such file bookmarks from browser and still will be able to find needed by such addon.
The user should put the path of directory of such html files into addon's preferences.
Found a bug with dates. Addon shows "Thu Jun 02 2016, 0:44" while in the library, you can see the real date of the bookmark: 04.08.2014 19:45
(more than a hundred bookmarks with one time (wrong))
Nice design, but not very useful for me. There should be an option to sort the bookmarks by category, instead of date.
Thanks for complimenting the design. As for the sorting option: I agree. During development I tried to list the bookmarks in the folder structure of the bookmarks menu, but I couldn't make it work. Fortunately, there is the add-on called `Gotta read it' which is similar to my extension with the difference that it allows you to create categories by tagging the bookmarks. URL: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/gotta-read-it/
Если это расширение заменит забытый bookmarks tab это будет круто. Хочу как в bookmarks tab, плюс возможность редактирования закладок
Thanks for the review. If I understand you correctly, you would like the add-on to replace the previously opened instance instead of creating a new one when you click the button?
As for the idea to edit bookmarks: That would certainly be useful as the add-on could then replace additional functionality of the original bookmarks menu. Nevertheless, I do not expect to include this if I am going to develop the next version. First, I want to add better ways to list bookmarks and improve the styling of the page.
I like the htmlpage-style bookmark than original bm manager.
Some thoughts: list bookmarks as folders
Thanks for the review and idea. I tried to list the bookmarks in the folder structure of the bookmarks menu when I developed this first version. Unfortunately, I had a difficult time creating such kind of a list so I implemented this date sorted list instead. Going to give it another try if I am going to develop a next version.
