por Faust, el hace 2 mesesIt’s quite ironic that an ad blocker designed to eliminate unwanted commercial spam ends up opening its own unwanted commercial spam. I understand the need to monetize, but opening a new tab to push a subscription offer feels intrusive. Most people are already overwhelmed with numerous subscriptions and don’t want to add another. This approach undermines the very purpose of using an ad blocker in the first place.

Every day, Adblock opens a New Tab requesting that I pay to upgrade to "premium Adblock"...whatever that nonsense is. This behavior only began roughly 1-2 years ago, when Adblock started going downhill. The straw that broke the camel's back tho was that Adblock recently decided to hide the "Block something on this page" button—the only feature that I ever really valued. So, reader, do yourself a favor: skip Adblock & just stick with **uBlock Origin**... it's free, zero spam, & vastly better performance.

If you are seeing it every day, please email us at support@getadblock.com The block element feature can be found on the new menu by clicking the AdBlock icon > More (three dots). — Kat C., AdBlock Support - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Shiro, el hace 22 días

They disguise them as "update" notifications but they are pushing updates every week and if you have the extension on multiple devices it will take over whatever tab you have open and show you that it's updated for the 5th time this month on every single device and conveniently also have an option to donate money.
The annoyance quickly builds up. After being interrupted and having to close a good 20-30 pop ups across all my devices a month, I'm done.Respuesta del desarrollador
