Sobre esta extensión
Phoenix AWR – Java Applets Runtime brings legacy Java applications back to the modern web.
The extension detects Java content embedded in web pages, including APPLET, OBJECT and EMBED elements, as well as links and resources associated with Java Applets, JApplets, JAR files and Java Web Start applications.
When compatible Java content is detected, Phoenix AWR displays a small control panel that allows the user to open the current page or application with the installed Phoenix AWR desktop runtime.
Main features:
• Detects Java Applets, JApplets and legacy Java content.
• Supports APPLET, OBJECT and EMBED elements.
• Detects Java Web Start and JNLP applications.
• Launches compatible pages through the secure phoenixawr: protocol.
• Supports Java applications created for Java 1.0 through Java 25.
• Works without NPAPI plugins or Native Messaging.
• Does not modify the original website.
• Only activates its interface when compatible Java content is detected.
• Allows users to reopen legacy Java applications using Phoenix AWR.
Phoenix AWR is a separate application and must be installed on the computer before the extension can launch Java content. The extension itself does not include a Java runtime and does not execute Java code directly inside Firefox.
Phoenix AWR is designed for users and organizations that still depend on legacy Java applications, including educational systems, business platforms, industrial software, administrative portals and archived web applications.
Supported desktop platforms depend on the installed Phoenix AWR distribution.
