Sobre esta extensión
BookmarkSync is a professional bookmark sync extension for people who want full control—not another vendor-locked cloud.
Your bookmarks sync only to storage you configure. Nothing is relayed through BookmarkSync servers. Choose GitHub Gist, Gitee, GitLab, self-hosted Gitea, WebDAV, S3-compatible object storage (AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, MinIO, and similar), Google Drive, or OneDrive (Access Token). Use the same remote from Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or the optional macOS companion app for Safari.
[SYNC ENGINE]
• Merge sync (recommended): three-way merge of local and cloud bookmarks for daily use
• Upload / Download: push local as source of truth, or pull cloud to overwrite local when needed
• Per-target auto-sync: on bookmark change, on an interval, or read-only mirror—each backend can be configured independently
• Sync health strip on the home screen: success, failure, stale sync, or count mismatch, with one-click retry or align
• Diff viewer: when local and cloud counts differ, see full URLs, folder paths, and which side has extra copies; merge / upload / download from the dialog
• Sync scope & exclusions: sync all bookmarks or limit to the toolbar / other roots; exclude folders by name pattern
• Delete protection and mass-delete guard (configurable threshold) to reduce accidental wipes
• Read-only mode when a device should only receive updates
• Netscape HTML backup (on by default): after a successful JSON upload/merge, also write a .html sibling (e.g. BookmarkSync.html) so you can manually import in any browser
• Optional end-to-end encryption for the remote bookmark payload; the passphrase stays on your device
• Clear local vs cloud bookmark counts (scoped the same way as sync)
[TOOLS HUB]
• Health overview — totals, duplicates, broken links, local vs remote
• Duplicate cleanup with smart URL normalization
• Broken-link checker with adjustable strictness
• Merge preview before risky overwrites
• Remote snapshot center — list, diff preview, point-in-time restore
• Git / remote version history with diff before restore
• HTML & JSON import/export; organize by domain or date
• Tab sessions — save the current window, restore the latest session, export; home-screen shortcuts included
• Sync profiles (work / personal, etc.) with a header switcher
• Optional weekly hygiene scan from the first-run wizard
[SAFETY & OPERATIONS]
• Local snapshots and detailed sync logs before dangerous actions
• Settings backup (browser account sync + local history restore)
• Configurable backup policies (settings / local snapshot / remote archive / manual)
• Optional desktop notifications; silent auto-sync when you prefer
• Dual-sync warning: remind you not to run Chrome/iCloud bookmark sync at the same time as BookmarkSync
[GET STARTED]
1. Open Settings → Connection — pick a backend, fill credentials, Test connectivity
2. On the home / Sync tab, use Merge sync daily (or Upload / Download when aligning intentionally)
3. Enable auto-sync for the active target if you want hands-free updates
4. Open Tools for cleanup, snapshots, and tab sessions; Support for docs, macOS app, and feedback
Privacy-first by design: bookmarks and tokens stay on your machine or in the storage you own. Built for power users, teams, and anyone who treats bookmarks as critical data.
