What data does the extension access?
Jiten Reader accesses Japanese text from web pages only when you use the extension to parse text. You can disable automatic parsing at any time and choose to trigger parsing manually whenever you want.
The selected text is sent to the jiten.moe API to perform text parsing and dictionary lookups. The text is discarded immediately after the requested data is returned and is not retained.

What data is stored?
Locally in your browser:
Your extension settings and preferences are stored locally using the browser’s storage API.

On jiten.moe servers:
Your tracked word status is stored on our servers in accordance with the general privacy policy you accept when creating a jiten.moe account.

What data is transmitted?
When you parse text, only the selected Japanese text is transmitted to jiten.moe for processing.
No browsing history, personal information, or unrelated page content is collected or transmitted.

Third parties
The extension communicates exclusively with jiten.moe.
No data is shared with or sent to any third parties.
