Sobre esta extensión
CometLens brings page inspection and CometWeb Insight reports into your browser.
Privacy at a glance: the extension declares a small right-click helper for all web pages, so your browser may show a broad site-access permission. Only after you open the context menu does the helper pass a CSS selector and current URL to the extension. Temporary storage keeps the selector, a SHA-256 URL fingerprint, capture time and document identifier when available, without the plaintext URL; it sends no page text or network request. It also keeps the URL, page-relative time and available interaction count in page memory to distinguish visits after restore or prerender activation. The helper does not persist or upload this checkpoint. Local page tools keep page content in your browser. When you choose to fetch Insight results, Lens sends your API key and the current page URL to
Use nine local tools to inspect metadata, headings, links, JSON-LD, detected technologies, design tokens, images, observed Web Vitals and visual modes. Search the results, copy selectors and export the local snapshot. Tools show when inspection is partial; link checks do not request destination pages, and JSON syntax checks do not certify structured data.
Select Check the current page for a local report in the sidebar, without opening a new tab. It combines stable axe accessibility rules, metadata and headings, links and images, JSON-LD, available browser measurements and observed technologies/styles. No account or credits are needed. Results stay in memory; the report shows partial coverage and unavailable checks. It inspects the current document and state, not a whole domain or every possible interaction. A separate advanced six-rule observation can still be explicitly exported to an Insight project; the broader sidebar report is never automatically exported. Neither report proves WCAG compliance.
Connect your Insight API key to see cached audit results for the current page, module scores and prioritised findings. Start a Quick cloud scan after checking its credit cost. Open the full report in Insight, create a task or mute a finding when your key has the required permissions.
On supported Insight backends, Fix this page groups up to three relevant findings and lets you highlight affected elements, inspect or copy a suggested fix, and request a targeted verification when the backend advertises that capability. If the backend does not support verification, Lens explains that instead of claiming a check ran. Report states distinguish measured, heuristic, unknown, stale and partial data; an unknown or unmeasured value is never presented as zero.
The inspector highlights elements on the page. Preview suggested CSS or sanitised HTML locally and undo the change. These previews do not modify your deployed website. Export reports as JSON or CSV, or use the browser's print dialog to save a PDF.
Local Tools do not require an Insight API key. Cloud reports and account actions require a CometWeb Insight account on a plan with API access and an API key; new scans consume account credits and may require a paid plan. Installation does not include an Insight subscription or unlimited scans. See https://cometweb.io/pricing for current plans.
Browser measurements are optional and can be declined or revoked in Settings. Cloud actions send your API key, the relevant page URL and, for task actions, the text you provide to app.cometweb.io. Local DOM snapshots and local HTML/CSS previews are not uploaded in full. The extension does not sell browsing data or use it for advertising.
Desktop Chrome 155+ and Firefox 140+. Version 0.6.6 is the public submission candidate, with the local audit and interface of 0.6.5. Tested platform results are limited to macOS and Linux; Windows has not been tested. Android and private browsing are not supported. English and Polish interface. Automated findings are guidance, not a compliance certificate or a guarantee that a website is free of defects.
