If you coach endurance athletes on TrainingPeaks, you know the routine. Every week you open each athlete's calendar, click through every completed workout, compare planned versus actual numbers, type out feedback, then move to the next athlete. Multiply that by 10, 20, or 50 athletes and you're spending hours on repetitive commentary instead of actually coaching.
TP Coach Copilot changes that. It's a Chrome side-panel extension that sits alongside TrainingPeaks and gives you four AI-powered modules designed specifically for endurance coaches.
MODULE 1: WORKOUT FEEDBACK
Open any athlete's calendar on TrainingPeaks, pick a date range (up to 7 days), and click Load. The extension reads every workout in that period -- TSS, power, pace, heart rate, planned versus actual, IF, duration, distance. Then hit Generate Analysis.
The AI writes a personalized comment for each individual workout. Not generic templates. It references the actual numbers from the session: "TSS came in 12% over plan at 94 versus the 88 target. Avg pace 4:32/km with HR sitting at 168 through the intervals." It compares planned versus done and flags deviations.
After the per-workout comments, it generates a period summary covering the whole week and an attention points section that flags what needs your eye for next week's planning: missed sessions, big deviations from plan, fatigue accumulation, upcoming race prep considerations.
Every comment is editable. Change anything you want, then post each one directly to TrainingPeaks with a single click. Or bulk-post all of them at once. The feedback appears as post-activity comments on the athlete's workouts, exactly where they expect to see it.
The AI streams the response token by token so you see feedback appearing in real time, not waiting for a blank screen to suddenly fill.
MODULE 2: PLAN TRAINING
This is where it gets powerful. Instead of manually dragging workouts onto the calendar day by day, you tell the AI what you need and it builds the week for you.
Click Plan Training, set the date range you want to plan, and the AI considers:
- The athlete's current CTL (Fitness), ATL (Fatigue), and TSB (Form)
- The last 90 days of completed workouts and compliance patterns
- The athlete's zones, thresholds, and FTP from their TrainingPeaks settings
- Recent health metrics (HRV, sleep, stress) from the last 14 days
But here is the key feature: when you check "Use library", the AI pulls your entire TrainingPeaks workout library -- every structured workout you've ever built -- and selects from YOUR workouts to fill the plan. It doesn't make up generic sessions. It picks the specific workouts you created, with all their structure (warm-up, intervals, cool-down), intensity targets, and polyline charts intact.
You see each planned workout appear as a card with:
- The workout name from your library
- A visual polyline intensity chart (the same bar chart you see in TrainingPeaks)
- The full structured workout breakdown (e.g., "Ramp up in 3 steps, Repeat 4 times: 5 min @ 85-90% FTP Hard / 5 min @ 60-70% FTP Easy, Cool Down 5 min @ 40-50% FTP")
- TSS, duration, distance, and IF from the actual library item
- A "why" explanation for each workout: why the AI placed this specific session on this specific day
You can select which sport types to include (Run, Ride, Swim, Strength), write free-form guidelines ("Focus on tempo runs this week, easy week before race, include a brick on Saturday"), and choose your coaching style.
Everything is editable. Change the title, description, TSS, duration, or distance on any day. When you're satisfied, hit "Push All to TrainingPeaks" and every workout lands on the athlete's calendar with the full structured workout data -- intervals, targets, zones -- not just a text description.
The AI explains its reasoning at the top of the plan: why this load distribution, why rest on this day, how the week fits the athlete's current fitness state.
MODULE 3: PMC DASHBOARD
See CTL (Fitness), ATL (Fatigue), and TSB (Form) for all your athletes in one view.
Click PMC Dashboard and the extension loads your full athlete roster from TrainingPeaks (works with hundreds of athletes). For each athlete, it fetches their daily TSS data and computes the standard PMC metrics using 42-day (CTL) and 7-day (ATL) exponential moving averages.
Features:
- Load individual athletes by clicking their name, or hit "Load All" to process everyone
- Real-time progress: values appear per-athlete as they load, with a progress bar showing current athlete and percentage
- Interactive scatter plot: CTL on the x-axis, TSB on the y-axis. Green dots for fresh athletes (positive TSB), red for fatigued (negative TSB). Hover to see names.
- "Active only" filter: hides athletes whose TrainingPeaks accounts expired more than 6 months ago (coaches accumulate inactive athletes over time)
- Search box: filter by name or email instantly
- Export to Excel: download all athletes with CTL, ATL, TSB, and email in a .xlsx file
The data is cached for the session so switching between modules is instant. The scatter plot updates in real time as athletes load, so you can spot patterns immediately: who's fresh for racing, who's carrying too much fatigue, who hasn't been training.
MODULE 4: COACHING STYLE
Control how the AI writes. Five built-in styles:
Create unlimited custom styles with your own prompt describing exactly how you want the AI to write. Add up to 10 voice examples -- paste samples of your actual writing and the AI mirrors your tone, vocabulary, and style.
The AI never opens with "Great job!" or "Well done!" -- it jumps straight into the observation. It references numbers naturally inside sentences, not as bullet-point lists. It sounds like a coach who actually watched the session, not a spreadsheet summary.
MULTI-LANGUAGE SUPPORT
The entire extension UI and AI-generated content are available in five languages:
- English
- Portuguese (Brazil)
- Spanish
- French
- Italian
Switch languages in Settings. The AI writes feedback and plans in your selected language, using natural phrasing (not machine translation).
HOW IT WORKS (TECHNICAL)
The extension runs as a Chrome side panel -- it sits alongside TrainingPeaks without covering it. Click the logo anytime to return to the home screen.
