Sobre esta extensión
This extension is used only for an IRB-approved academic research study conducted through Prolific. It is not a general-purpose consumer extension and is intended only for invited study participants.
The purpose of the extension is to help researchers understand how people experience cookie consent choices on websites and how those choices compare with participants’ privacy preferences. Installing it enables the study tasks to run correctly and allows the research team to collect the specific browser-side measurements needed for the project.
What this extension does:
Confirms that the study extension is installed and active during your Prolific session.
Partially detects and records cookie-consent settings on visited websites.
Reads browser cookie and limited browsing-context information needed for the study’s analyses.
Injects study-related interface components into supported pages when required for the research tasks.
Supports secure export/submission of study data for analysis.
Why participants should install it:
It is required to complete this Prolific study as designed.
It enables accurate measurement of consent behavior, which cannot be captured through survey questions alone.
It helps produce evidence that can improve transparency, usability, and fairness of cookie-consent experiences on the web.
Important scope and usage notes:
This extension is for study participation only.
It should be installed only if you have been invited to this specific study.
After completing the study, participants should remove/uninstall the extension.
Privacy and ethics:
This project is IRB-approved and operates under the consent and data-use terms provided in the study materials. Data handling and retention follow the study protocol, consent form, and privacy documentation. Participants should review the Prolific study page and consent form before installation. If you have questions about participation, data handling, or withdrawal, contact the study team using the contact details provided in your Prolific study listing and consent form.
