he Short Version

The extension operates entirely within your browser. There is no backend service, no database, and no way for us to access any information you enter.
Local Storage
SpamTrace stores the following information locally on your device only using your browser's built-in extension storage:Your base email address — The email you enter in the extension popup (e.g., you@example.com)
Enabled/disabled state — Whether the extension is turned on
History of tagged emails — A list of websites you've signed up to and the tagged email used (e.g., you+facebook@example.com)
This data is stored using chrome.storage.local (or browser.storage.local in Firefox) and never leaves your browser. It is not synced to any cloud service.
You can clear this data at any time by:Clicking "Clear history" in the extension popup
Uninstalling the extension
Clearing your browser's extension data
Permissions
SpamTrace requests the following browser permissions. Here's what each one does and why it's needed:storage — Allows the extension to save your base email and history locally on your device. This data is never transmitted anywhere.
activeTab — Allows the extension to interact with the current tab when you're on a page with a signup form. This is used to detect email input fields and autofill them.
scripting — Allows the extension to run the content script that detects email fields on web pages. This script runs locally in your browser and does not send data anywhere.
These are the minimum permissions required for the extension to function. We do not request access to your browsing history, bookmarks, or any other sensitive data.
Third-Party Services
SpamTrace does not use any third-party services, libraries, or APIs that collect data. There are no analytics tools, crash reporters, or external dependencies that phone home.
Data Sharing and Sale
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties. Since we don't collect any data, there is nothing to share or sell.
Children's Privacy
SpamTrace does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the extension collects no data, there is no age-related concern.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Since SpamTrace has no way to contact users (we don't have your email), checking this page is the only way to stay informed of changes.
