GitHub PR Assistant adds a lightweight floating panel to GitHub compare and "Create Pull Request" pages, helping you write clear, well-structured PR titles and descriptions in seconds.

Bring your own Anthropic API key and let Claude read the full diff, then watch the generated title and description stream directly into GitHub's own PR fields — no copy-pasting required. Prefer to use your own tooling? Export a clean, structured JSON payload of the diff instead.

• AI-powered PR writing — Sends the pull request diff to Anthropic's Claude API and streams back a ready-to-use title and Markdown description.
• Auto-fill — Generated text is typed straight into GitHub's real Title and Description boxes on the Create PR page.
• JSON export — One click exports repo info, commit messages, the file list, and the full diff as structured JSON for use in any external tool.
• Choose your model — Pick any available Claude model, or fetch the current list live from Anthropic.
• Custom prompts — Override the built-in system prompt to match your team's PR conventions.
• Complete diffs — Fetches the raw .diff from GitHub so even large pull requests are captured in full, not just what the page shows.
• Remembers its state — The panel stays expanded or collapsed the way you left it across page loads and navigations.

1. Open the extension settings and paste your Anthropic API key (get one at console.anthropic.com).
2. Pick a Claude model and optionally customize the system prompt.
3. Visit any GitHub compare page — the PR Assistant panel appears in the bottom-right corner.

• No telemetry, tracking, or analytics.
• Your API key is stored locally in your browser and is never sent anywhere except Anthropic's official API.
• Diff data is sent only to Anthropic's Claude API, and only when you click Use Claude API.
• Fully open source.

An Anthropic API key is required for AI generation. API usage is billed by Anthropic according to your own account.
