Vista previa de Gulliver

Gulliver por Darrell_g

Instantly navigate to on-screen-clock timestamps in a YouTube live stream. No drift, no calibration. Great for wildlife and nature streams where timestamps of entertaining and educational moments are shared by viewers in live chat.

Sobre esta extensión
Ever watching a live nature cam — a reef, a nest, a waterhole — and someone in chat says "check out 15:48:14"? Getting there means dragging the scrubber around, estimating, overshooting, and fiddling to arrive at a precise moment. Gulliver helps shave some time off that process.

Gulliver is Free. No ads. Forever.

HOW TO USE IT
1. Open a YouTube live stream that shows a clock on screen.
2. Pick the stream's timezone from the drop-down (just once per stream — it's remembered).
3. Type the time you want to see, as shown on the stream's clock.
4. Press Enter. You arrive at or within 5 seconds before it. "Back to Live" returns you to the live edge anytime.
5. The little box floats over the YouTube player and can be dragged anywhere you like.

WORKS ON
Any YouTube live stream that shows an on-screen clock and keeps a rewindable buffer — wildlife cams and similar round-the-clock feeds. Desktop only. A few broadcasters set their clock differently; on those streams, jumps may land at a consistent offset. See "OFFSET" below.

WHY IT'S ACCURATE
Gulliver reads the stream's own broadcast timing, so it doesn't drift over a long duration of viewing and never needs recalibrating.

WHY UP TO A 5 SECOND LEAD-IN TIME?
Video can only start decoding at a key-frame (I-frame), which on a live YouTube stream lands around every few seconds, not every frame. This isn't a calibration error in Gulliver, it's a property of how seeking works, and nothing can eliminate this entirely because the YouTube player physically can't land between key-frames. With that in mind, Gulliver still eliminates the repetitive finessing needed to drag/nudge to precise times in the video. It's an irreducible fluctuation, but luckily it functions as a comfortable lead-in to the moment when it lands that way.

OFFSET (Behind the gear icon):
For most streams: leave it at 0. Offset is only for cams whose on-screen clock is consistently offset from the broadcast — enter the difference in seconds and Gulliver remembers it. Offset is not meant to correct the small lead-in before your input time. Trying to tune those seconds away with the offset function only pushes the stream's real alignment out of true, and every jump afterwards will be wrong by the amount you adjusted.

PRIVACY
Gulliver collects nothing. No accounts, no tracking, no data leaves your browser, and it makes no network requests. The only thing it stores is your per-stream timezone and offset choices, saved locally on your own device. Gulliver Privacy Policy

FINAL NOTE
At any point YouTube could change how their API works, causing bugs or completely breaking the extension. If that happens please drop me a line and I will get things working again as fast as I can. I won't leave you hanging!
