First Comments is an independent browser extension for finding the oldest available top-level comments on YouTube. The publisher uses the name First Comments. Privacy and support contact: galaktionvs2002@gmail.com.

Information used to run a search

The extension reads the current YouTube video ID from the page URL and the page's light or dark theme. It does not read your browser's history database or monitor other websites. When you choose Oldest first in the comment sort menu, or click Show first 100, Retry or Refresh, it requests that video's public watch page and comment pages directly from www.youtube.com over HTTPS. Returning to cached results does not start another search.

These requests contain the video ID, pagination tokens, date boundaries and basic YouTube client configuration. They omit account cookies and the page referrer. The extension does not reuse YouTube's visitorData identifier from the watch-page configuration. Tokens returned during a search may contain opaque server-generated data; they are used only to retrieve that video's comments.

YouTube receives ordinary network information, including your IP address and browser request headers. YouTube's handling of requests is governed by Google's privacy policy. First Comments does not control YouTube's retention or processing. Omitting account cookies does not make network requests anonymous to YouTube.

Native YouTube comments and your session

After the search, the extension asks the current YouTube page to load the matching comments into YouTube's own comment components. These additional rendering requests use the page's normal YouTube session and request context, including account cookies when you are signed in. YouTube then loads avatars and handles expanding replies, likes and reply controls as it does for ordinary comments. The extension does not automatically like, dislike or post anything.

A small bundled script runs in the YouTube page to adapt only the extension's own rendering request. Other page requests continue normally. Request headers and account credentials are not exported to the extension interface, saved in exports or sent to the publisher. The extension does not request access to the browser's cookie store.

Comments and local storage

Public comment text, author display names, comment IDs, reported ages, like counts and reply counts are processed locally to display and order results. Native components also receive YouTube's comment and interaction data, including avatar URLs and reply pagination information. Comment text may contain personal information that its author made public. It is not sent to the publisher or an analytics service. The extension does not access private messages.

Search results are kept in memory for the current video in the current tab. Navigating to another video, reloading or closing the tab clears this state. There is no extension database, cloud sync or persistent cache. Clicking Save creates a JSON file on your device. That file remains until you delete it and may be handled by any backup or sync software you use.

No advertising or telemetry

The extension has no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, remote executable code or developer-operated server. It does not automatically send the publisher usage reports, comments, browsing data or identifiers. Data is used only to provide the requested comment-search and local export features. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising, creditworthiness or lending decisions.

First Comments' use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. The publisher does not receive or review your search results unless you voluntarily send them in a support request.

Support and your choices

If you email support, your email address and anything you include are received through Gmail and used to respond to and resolve your request. Support correspondence is retained as needed for that purpose; you may request deletion by contacting the same address. Do not include passwords or other unnecessary sensitive information. Google's processing of email is governed by its own privacy terms.

You can stop a search, close the tab, delete exported files or uninstall the extension. The publisher holds no automatically collected search history to access or delete. Requests about a YouTube comment itself should be directed to YouTube or its author.

Changes

Updates to this policy will show a new effective date. Any future change in extension data handling will be disclosed before that changed behavior is enabled, including any browser permission or consent required.
