Firefox user, likes to keep things simple, efficient, and moderately stylish.

My Reviews

Bookmarks Checker - check for bad links

Very nice Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works quite good... found 11 out of over 450 bookmarks that were broken links and a few errors including an old D-Link bookmark I'd forgotten about.
Also found duplicates, and gives you the option of reviewing and deleting them.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.3.0).

FindBar Tweak

Slick Rated 4 out of 5 stars

WOW what a lot of features! The only thing I was looking for was an automatic time-out for closing the Find bar, which it seems to lack; but I'm content with the option that it closes on it's own once it's lost the cursor focus. Impressed with the "circle" feature.

Hide Find Bar

Fallen by the wayside Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Well this WAS an awesome add-on but has fallen into disrepair unfortunately... "FindBar Tweak" seems to be a rather nice replacement (thank you, Quicksaver aka Luís).

SuperStop

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

yup it works with FF 20.0.1
Shift + Esc stops GIF's in their tracks
:)

Tab Mix Plus

quite nice except... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This add-on is quite nice except I find it convoluted; there are SO many options it is mind-boggling. As of this post the Tab-resize function malfunctions... even with all other extensions disabled.
I really wish there was a TMP "Light" version that has, like, just 10 settings rather than 100.
3 stars for that.

SmartVideo For YouTube

nearly awesome Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works great, I can open multiple tabs / windows / players and they won't start playing until I'm ready for them.
Note: it does interfere with YouTube Video Editor, so simply turn it off when editing videos.
As of October Youtube had changed it's code, but the programmer has provided and upgrade that works (go into comment section to see his response and link - the upgrade works despite not having yet been reviewed by Mozilla)

Hide Find Bar

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

no longer works

Weather Watcher Live

poor display Rated 2 out of 5 stars

it's got a nice options interface that's easy to set, however the display does not show the actual days and the temperature is incorrect at -17 degrees in June... needs some work

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.17).

Forecastfox Weather

city field change not working... FF13 Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I can't change the city on the customize page upon installation. Stuck on New York, NY.
I live in Canada, but it won't even load US cities. The Error message I get is:
"An error has occurred while looking up your location on Google Maps. Please try again."

Perhaps it's the browser? I've had problems with FF13 where certain sites won't load etc. I have a raft of add-ons and can't tell if it's one of them. Tried Opera and other sites work on that...

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.21).

Tabberwocky

please come back Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I'm sad to hear about the author of this add-on going MIA. I tried Tab Utilities and although it does do a lot and more, it also arbitrarily reloads or resets pages causing information loss.
I wish someone could take over Tabberwocky and upgrade it for FF7 because I was happy with it and also used to how it works - it's wonderfully simple.

Status-4-Evar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice! I have my status bar back again. I have FF7, and when they begain fiddling with it I thought "geez, didn't the Mozilla staff ever hear of If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It?"
Great Add-on, I didn't even customize it, it just worked right away like it was FF3 !

FabTabs

beautiful

Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar Plus

Very Good Add-On Rated 4 out of 5 stars

At the moment (9/29/2011) I'm waiting for Multirow Bookmarks to become fully compatible with FF6 that I have presently installed... as it keeps reverting back to single-row height and I have to reset it every time I start the browser.
Otherwise... GREAT Add-On... I love having all my bookmarks right where I can see and easily access them... like all my books on a shelf.

X-notifier (for Gmail,Hotmail,Yahoo,AOL ...)

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I installed this Add-On to try it out, then uninstalled it, now my Thunderbird will not receive emails! THANKSALOT
NOT HAPPY :(

X-notifier (for Gmail,Hotmail,Yahoo,AOL ...)

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The repeat notification does not work. I tested it at 1-minute intervals and after 1 minute, 2 minutes, NO further sound notification.
Uninstalled and trashed, no better than what already comes with Thunderbird

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.7.9).

MinimizeToTray Plus

basically works Rated 3 out of 5 stars

First, please note: this review is for Windows XP on all my computers (not Vista or W7).
I have tried two popular add-ons for minimizing to tray: "MinimizeToTray Plus" and "MinimizeToTray revived" and both basically work fine, but at the same time, I found that both are "buggy" on my laptop... the "MinimizeToTray Plus" even more so than the other.
HOWEVER, it should be noted that the "MinimizeToTray Plus" seems to work FLAWLESSLY on my desktop computer with little or no bug behavior.
The bugs that manifested on my laptop are:
- opened folder windows go orange in the task-bar unnecessarily
- right-click on task-bar items is completely disabled for open files or folders
- normal-clicking on task-bar multiple times is required to bring the window to the front
Again, very few or none of these symptoms manifested on my desktop, so clearly there are some system discrepancies that come into play; something to bear in mind if you encounter bugs on your own computer.

MinimizeToTray revived

basically works ok Rated 4 out of 5 stars

First, please note: this review is for Windows XP on all my computers (not Vista or W7).
I have tried two popular add-ons for minimizing to tray: "MinimizeToTray Plus" and "MinimizeToTray revived" and both basically work fine, but at the same time, I found that both are "buggy" on my laptop... the "MinimizeToTray Plus" even more so than this one.
HOWEVER, it should be noted that, on my desktop computer, the "MinimizeToTray Plus" seems to work flawlessly with little or no bug behavior, so I've chosen to stay with that add-on for now on that computer.
I give this Add-on higher marks than the other add-on because the bugs are not as prevalent (see my review for it there).
At least right-click on the task-bar works with this add-on. Some opened folder windows still go orange in the task-bar unnecessarily though.
Again, very few or none of these symptoms manifested on my desktop, so clearly there are some system discrepancies that come into play; something to bear in mind if you encounter bugs on your own computer.

SmartVideo For YouTube

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Initially I was very happy with this Add-on. But presently, I have to agree with User "hellixsystems"... it has stopped working. It's like it's not even there. So sadly, I've uninstalled it for now, until the bug can be fixed.
So for that, I give it 4 stars, because WHEN it works it's nice.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5).

Find Toolbar Tweaks

B+ Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice little Add-on, however it does NOT hide the Find bar like it says it does. I had to re-enable my other favorite Add-on "Hide Find Bar" https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6886/ which works nicely in combination with this one.
I just like the extra options this one gives.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.2.0).

Hide Find Bar

very nice Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Nice little Add-on.

Suggestions:
Make Options available on the Tools menu.
I like the slide open/close idea-!
I'm surprised as well that Firefox doesn't make this a natural feature of the browser.

It DOES work on full-screen mode (at least on my computer), I just tested it.
