It works for email but not for chat (except through copypaste). To translate an email, you have to first go to the preview pane and select the text, which is a bit clumsy -- it would be nicer if it just translated the currently visible email. The developer version doesn't install in Thunderbird.
no longer working and apparently abandonedThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.1).
The Pocket addon (formerly ReatItLater) now forces people to store bookmarks on their server. I didn't want to share everything I read with them, so I refused to register. Then Pocket deleted my entire reading list, and when I tried to downgrade to a previous version, it restored the current version even though I had disabled updates. This is unacceptable. Thank you for providing this useful alternative.
Yet another addon needed to reverse a stupid decision by the Mozilla UX team... Apparently they feel they need to dumb everything down, but why don't they make it a pref?
Apart from weeping and gnashing of teeth, Firefox's new behavior also produces a new privacy problem. It leads to search engines being called with search terms that weren't intended for them.
Current releases can be found on the homepage. Version 1.7pre is compatible with Thunderbird 16.
Btw the check mark in the View|Layout menu is still inverted. It should be checked when the sidebar is visible, not when it's hidden.
Go to the extension homepage to get a current "pre-release" version! The version here is 5 years old. The latest version on the homepage is v1.5pre from April 2012.This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Still useful, but it stopped working correctly on many sites, e.g. doesn't recognize a login form, tries to submit hidden forms, doesn't recognize a captcha requirement, doesn't fill the username/email field. This extension is up for adoption (see "Developer's Comments"), don't let it die! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.9). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
no response from notaries... even http://www.networknotary.org/ is down. Wasn't the idea to build a network of notaries that is more reliable than any single https site? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.2).
Looks better than EPubReader, and I also appreciate that it doesn't force the library function on me. Check out the manual in Tools|Lucifox! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.8.3).
This addon is absolutely necessary due to Firefox's extremely annoying master password UI. Every time I start Firefox, Sync steals focus and fires a modal master password prompt without even telling why, and this is by design! Master Password+ gets rid of them. Not 5 stars because it doesn't work well with Secure Login (need to reload page) and because the "Lock" hotkeys cannot be disabled. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.16.1).
It needs some built-in general rules (by domain, opened-from, etc). If I have to enter a custom regex for every set of tabs I visit it's easier to group them manually. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).
I love it. It seems to work with Thunderbird 7 beta. Please bump. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.2).
It doesn't say so in the description, but this initiates a Google web search in a Thunderbird tab. (I think I saw a search engine dropdown but it disappeared after a split second.) Thunderbird isn't a web browser. If you want the kitchen sink, get Seamonkey.
great Aardvark replacementThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.5).
Downrated for being abandonware. Developers, if you're going to abandon an extension, please hand it over to someone else. I have tried "Hack The Web" and it's a great replacement. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/hack-the-web/This user has 3 previous reviews of this add-on.
abandonware looking for a foster homeThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.1).
On http://karmatics.com/aardvark/ it says "Aardvark was created by Rob Brown (firstname.lastname@example.org) and now belongs to vark.com." but http://vark.com is a completely unrelated "social search engine", also called Aardvark, that was acquired by Google. Is this a trademark issue? Anyway, I'm glad the malware block went away. I'm using Aardvark with Fx 4 and so far I haven't had any problems. This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
Don't be such dicks, folks. For the sites that have logins listed on bugmenot, the extension works. Don't blame this extension for the "play nice with site owners" policy of bugmenot.com. There are alternatives but they don't have logins even for the most popular sites. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.2).
I love this extension, please update it for Fx4! And get rid of those evil ads on your site! http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http://karmatics.com/This user has other reviews of this add-on.
