9 Add-ons in this Collection
Blocks annoying video ads on YouTube, Facebook ads, banners and much more.
Adblock Plus blocks all annoying ads, and supports websites by not blocking unobtrusive ads by default (configurable).
Collector's Note I recommend you subscribe to the famous EasyList: http://tinyurl.com/cbyza7 And, EasyPrivacy: http://tinyurl.com/qcc73w The developer page and list administrator's site is: http://easylist.adblockplus.org/
LastPass, an award-winning password manager, saves your passwords and gives you secure access from every computer and mobile device.
Collector's Note This and Robo Form are one of the most secure password managers. I've switched to Robo Form but have seen little to no clear advantages between the 2. Some of the Lastpass prompts got annoying.
The best security you can get in a web browser!
Allow active content to run only from sites you trust, and protect yourself against XSS and Clickjacking attacks.
Collector's Note I do not use no script, and believe I see very little privacy and advert concerns with out it. The FanBoy list, EasyList and EasyPrivacy list on Adblock Plus seem to do very good job.
The User Agent Switcher extension adds a menu and a toolbar button to switch the user agent of a browser.
Collector's Note I either keep my browser as Firefox, or a bot.
Control a new, trickier kind of cookie, better known as an LSO or Flash cookie. The BetterPrivacy safeguard offers various ways to handle Flash-cookies created by webpages with the help of your Flash plug-in...
Collector's Note I delete LSO's on exit. Very interesting add-on, and i still don't understand the "no pie allowed" icon. In rare cases, some LSO's may be present that store high scores or other relevant data related to flash based games & apps... so deleting an LSO may delete that data. However, these flash-based cookies have a limit of 100k so a high score is probably not the only thing store on them. LSO work cross-browser/platform as well.
Lightbeam is a Firefox add-on that enables you to see the first and third party sites you interact with on the Web. Using interactive visualizations, Lightbeam shows you the relationships between these third parties and the sites you visit.
Removes Redirects like http://redirectremover.mozdev.org/?www.mozilla.org from Links and Images
Collector's Note I've yet to install it and do a decent review on it.
Complete control over online tracking using multiple methods, including cookie blocking, persistent opt-out cookies, Flash and HTML5 control, and Do Not Track signals. Visit us to learn more: http://www.privacychoice.org
Collector's Note Please read my review. Would like feedback to see more average joes use the add-on and provide feedback.
Sets permanent opt-out cookies to stop behavioral advertising for 100+ different advertising networks, including Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, all members of the Network Advertising Initiative, and many other companies.
Collector's Note Don't use Taco 3.0 This is a fork from 2.0, the good version before it became infected with commercial bloat. I will examine Taco 3.0 in the future. whats better than a taco is BEEF taco! Anyway this add-on adds ad cookies which specify you've opted out of targeted advertising. Its a great and ingenious way to stop targeted ads. It works internal too, so the site just asks for the cookie and firefox gladly hands over the data. Shouldn't slow performance and whats better if the maintainer keeps good tabs on opt-outs, when it gets updated, you should be updated with the latest out-outs as well! it won't break anything, and prevents ads.
