Why was Message Archive Options created?
I've manually archived my emails for years by manually adding them to folders based on the recieve date. When Thunderbird 3 introduced support for archiving with a single key it was great but the preferences to switch to two levels was hidden and the folder names predefined. I wanted to able to name my folders differently, hence this addon.
Additionally, the default key "A" is the same as Yahoo mail uses for 'Reply to All' so I kept accidentally archiving messages I was meaning to reply to so I added additional preferences to adjust it to "Ctrl+A".
What's next for Message Archive Options
Not much really. The archive function more or less works how I wanted it to now. If anything it will be a deeper rewrite that added additional levels (week or day, for example).
