My Reviews

Classic Theme Restorer (Customize UI)

Marvellous Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank goodness - back to a sane version of Firefox.

So pleased.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.8).

Self-Destructing Cookies

Stupendous Rated 5 out of 5 stars

What a great add-on. Makes you realise how many anonymous cookes were installing themselves. Very satisfying to see that little yellow box pop up and watch them getting terminated with extreme prejudice.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.1).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Self-Destructing Cookies

I just LOVE this Rated 5 out of 5 stars

What a brilliant add-on. I never knew how many cookies were being stored on my system. I love seeing the little box come up saying they've been self-destructed!

Thank you.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.1).

PDF Viewer

Rubbish - really annoying Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Installs itself, hard to unload, works REALLY badly.

Try FoxIt Reader to see what a pdf viewer SHOULD be like.

Fantastic. Fixes the ONLY thing Outlook does that Tbird can't. I'm totally agree with GrannyGamer.

Thank you!

Allow HTML Temp

Viewing not sending Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Like Karl, I would love to be able to choose to compose in HTML at the point of composing. This is the only thing Outlook does better than Tbird!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.1).

Attachment Sizes

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent - fixes the snag in TB that I've always regretted - it's too easy to send huge attachments without realising.
Version 0.0.8 available from http://forum.addonsmirror.net/index.php?showtopic=5638&st=0&#entry27528 is the business.

Duplicate Contact Manager

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works great, if a little slow.

Would love to see auto save contacts managed on the fly - ie send a message and immediately get asked if address should be saved and how.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6).

TB Reset Quote Header Extension

Works - eventually Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Wow.

What a palaver to get a proper reply header with date and time etc. Crikey!

But it works with Tb 2.0.0.16 (on my system anyway!).

Here's what I did:

1) Download TB_Reset_Quote_Header_0.4.3.xpi

2) Save to add-ons location (in my case, C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird)

3) Copy TB_Reset_Quote_Header_0.4.3.xpi elsewhere.
Rename to TB_Reset_Quote_Header_0.4.3.zip

4) Open TB_Reset_Quote_Header_0.4.3.zip

5) Copy the two .txt files (quoteHdrHtml.txt and quoteHdr.txt) back to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird (or wherever you saved the xpi file)

6) Install add-on. Restart.

7) Go to Tools > Add-ons > TB Reset Quote Header yadda yadda > Options

8) Under Text Quote Header Template Filename click BROWSE, and find C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\quoteHdr.txt (or whatever)

9) Under DATE FORMAT change to

%dd/%mm/%yyyy %hr:%mn:%ss

to get UK layout and 24 hour clock

10) Click on OK

When I reply to a message, this gives me the following header:

> ----- Original Message -----
> From: Sid Nerk
> To: My name here
> Sent: 09/08/2008 17:32:07 +0100
> Subject: TB Add-ons

You can then edit the text file accordingly. Mine now reads:

> ----- Original Message -----
> From: @A@
> To: @R@
> CC: @C@
> Sent(dd/mm/yyyy): @D@

which gives:

> ----- Original Message -----
> From: Sid Nerk
> To: My name here
> Sent(dd/mm/yyyy): 09/08/2008 19:32:07 +0100

Ideally I'd like the month name in there (Aug) instead of the confusing UK/US conflict, and lose the +0100, but I'm not going to fiddle any further...

So: tiresome, but it works.

TB Header Tools Extension

Er - sorry! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Oops - sorry.

I'm new to this: posted review in wrong place!
