My Reviews

Swedish Dictionary

Riktigt bra – som vanligt Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Oavsett vad de döps till, är alltid Görans ordlistor väldigt bra. Jag kan dock hålla med föregående recensent om att just det här namnet nog bör bytas mot ett annat, tydligare dito.

Men jag är mer än nöjd med själva produkten och ger den fem (5) oförgängligt skinande stjärnor.

No Greek? Well, translate yourself! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Dear "Royalstar",

Most, if not all, add-ons are products of the efforts of several contributors, who work for free to make your Internet a little bit better: amongst those are the developer(s) and – in this case – the translators. Volunteering translators are indeed needed, since you can't very well expect Mr. McDonald to know all the languages upon this Earth, and since add-ons don't translate themselves. So if an add-on hasn't been translated to e.g. Greek, the best course of action is to translate it yourself.

Foxclocks is translated at BabelZilla (, a website where ordinary users can translate the add-ons (that are registered there) to their respective languages. Go there, register and start translating.

And by the way, Greek isn't the mother of all languages. The language that presently is considered to be the mother of e.g. Greek (and all other Indo-European languages) is the reconstructed Proto-Indo-European language.

Welcome to BabelZilla,

Den stora svenska ordlistan

Ett välkommet tillskott i Mozillafamiljen Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Lysande, måste jag säga. Helt enkelt lysande. Den tidigare svenska ordlistan är mycket bra, men kan nog må bra av lite kompletterande konkurrenter med andra ord och uttryck i bagaget.

Ett väldigt bra initiativ, med andra ord. Tack, Göran, för den här ordlistan. Några felaktigheter får man räkna med i ett såpass stort dokument som listan utgör, och de misstagen kommer man enkelt undan med lite sund källkritik och åtminstone sju års folkskola.

Alla tummar upp!

Omnibar Plus

On the BabelZilla question in the post below Rated 5 out of 5 stars

First a short review:

Great add-on! It is doing what it is supposed to – unclogging my Awesome Bar.

About the BabelZilla question:

The list that is referred to in the review below is a list of add-ons that are registered on and uploaded to BabelZilla, but don't have any translator assigned to them for the locale in question (in this case Hebrew, he-IL). It is always updated. The reason Omnibar Plus doesn't appear in that particular list is that a translator for he-IL already has registered to that add-on.

To get a full list of registered and uploaded add-ons, log in to BabelZilla and then go to the "Web Translation System" (WTS start page) > tab "All Extensions".

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Especially when I receive big messages containing more advanced HTML than usual (lots of images and formatted text in various sizes), the ability to collapse the header frees much needed space. This is such a small, simple and highly useful addon that I have to write a review and contribute to the well deserved high star score it has. The first thing I thought upon installing it was: "Wow... Why isn't this part of TB3's native features?".

This excellent addon can very well be used also by those who doesn't like compact menus and toolbars. It rectifies one of the less good looking properties in TB3. The buttons are a perfect alternative to TB's native text based buttons, that in my view both look bad and are placed bad. Five stars, without hesitation!

Tab Kit

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Almost everything is great about this add-on. The only thing that bothers me is that there isn't any option not to get tab groups colour coded. If I'm to reactivate the add-on, I need to be able to turn off the tab colouring feature.

Quote Colors

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have a neuropsychiatric condition that sometimes makes it difficult for me to sort and order information into appropriate groups, making e.g. e-mail reading almost impossible. Quote Colors really helps me. It turns cluttered chunks of text into structured trees, all branches assigned with their own level colour. And apart from many other add-ons, the default settings are great as they are. The colours and shadings are perfect for me. It's small and simple, compared to many other add-ons, but the improvement to readability is great.

This is one of the best add-ons I've installed during my many years with Thunderbird. Highly recommended!

Cluster Tabs for Firefox

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I love the idea, but in my FF3 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; sv-SE; rv: Gecko/2009060215 Firefox/3.0.11 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)), the navigation buttons in the toolbar (forward, back, reload and stop) only affect the first (leftmost) tab. Therefore, my rating is set to three stars. If that little glitch is fixed, I'll bump it up to the fiver it otherwise deserves.

CuteMenus Classic

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have used this addon on FF2 and FF3, and I love it! The only thing I miss is additional support for Thunderbird and Sunbird, including beta versions.

Text Area Word Counter

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works fine in FF2, but is not compatible with FF3. Also, this addon would be a great extension for Thunderbird.

X-notifier (for Gmail,Hotmail,Yahoo,AOL ...)

Praise and a request Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this addon! It's user-friendly, lightweight and practical. This way I don't have to login to all the different Hotmail accounts I have. So, WebMail Notifier gets a solid 5 p. score.

One request though. I would love to have this addon in Thunderbird instead. As for now, I need to have both applications open to get notified of new mail. So, if I may come with a suggestion, it would be to make this addon compatible with the whole range of Mozilla applications.
