This is by far the best Gmail notifier I have used.
It enables nearly all the functionality of Gmail in a very nice popup by simulating a mobile browser (similar to using Chrome Portable, Opera or stock Android Browser).
- View all emails unlike others that show unread messages
- Perform all common email tasks (read, reply, forward, delete, etc.)
- Compose emails from the popup. Yes! It is possible. No attachments however. Blame Google for that.
- Does not require signing in to Gmail on the add-on, making it very convenient.
- Does not have desktop notification for cases when Firefox is minimized or the window is not active.
Overall, this is a wonderful add-on. After using this for a few hours ll most likely trash your current Gmail notifier.
This is a good add-on helps make efficient use of space. The minimalistic nature of the add-on is taken a bit too far in my opinion though. On a 1280 pixel-wide screen, this add-on takes up too much space if you want to view enough of a tab's title. I think the developer should at the very least, include an option to auto-collapse the tabs when the mouse leaves the area.I'll give a 5-star rating when this is done. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.3.1-signed).
One of the greatest add-ons I ever used.
I've been waiting for a compatible version since Firefox 4 was released for an updated version and it finally came!
The major reason I use Google Chrome is to translate non-English pages on the fly. With this add-on, everything is way simpler. I can have any page translated at the click of a button and that's totally awesome!Take, for instance, @IrbisT's review to this add-on on March 26, 2011. It reads:
Мне понравился, его преимущество в простоте и за счет этого быстро работает, именно это мне и нужно было. Большое спасибо разработчикам!!!!
After going through the translation process, I find it is
I liked the advantage of simplicity and due to this fast, this is what I wanted. Many thanks to developers!!
And I didn't even have to know what language the original text was in!
This add-on makes the job of window organisation easier.
This add-on complements Firefox 4's slim user interface. There is, however, a slight suggestion for improvement.
@Gomita: Consider increasing the the area under which the toolbar automatically pops up to about 8 pixels.
As it is now, when the user chooses 'Automatically Hide' in normal mode, there is only one pixel of area sensitive to mouse hovering.
This it makes the option less useful especially when the firefox window is not maximized (restored).
When this issue is addressed, this add-on will get a perfect rating.
Just as REL_Dude said. First thing this add-on did was to try to take over my homepage!
Mozilla must look into this ASAP!
The underlying concept is good enough.Click on a pdf, doc, ppt, etc and it opens in Google Docs. So far so good. The problem arises when one wants to save a document instead of viewing it.It turns out that it is totally impossible to do so! You'll have to copy the link and take out the relevant portion! What a pain!Plus, the description displayed for the add-on in the Add-ons window is plainly too long. 66 words! SMH. It's totally unheard of! The description should be a one-liner but this add-on gives a whole paragraph!! I mean, did I get something wrong? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3).
The best proxy management add-on by far.
I have used so many proxy management add-ons, all of which required I select a different proxy manually. No auto switch whatsoever.
The closest thing to auto switching was with FoxyProxy but it was not as I expected it to be; it was too heavy and just didn't do as expected.
And then I stumbled upon this lightweight, no fuss add-on and my problems were solved! I wonder where I had been looking all this while.
You've been really helpful.
This add-on is really outstanding!
I've used it (and the original scrapbook earlier) to archive a lot of pages for easy referencing anywhere I may be.
There is one small improvement I request to be included: Support for Relative Directories.
Whenever I run this add-on from my flash drive using FirefoxPortable on a different computer, I have to reconfigure the scrapbook's data location and this is quite frustrating sometimes.
If you could possibly add support for relative directories (such as relative to the firefox executable path), I think it would be very helpful for firefox portable users.
This extension is okay for general downloads. I however have just two issues with it.
1. Regular download managers add additional sections when a section is done but this one doesn't.
2. The extension requires we use MinTrayR, another extension written by the author in order to minimize to the tray. This does not allow users to choose which extension they prefer to use for such purpose. Whatever happened to giving the user flexibility and choice?
And for the reference, the minimize to tray extension I use is MinimizeToTray Plus. I've got the author's MinTrayR but it is incompatible and it keeps getting disabled.
I believe these issues should be fixed in the next release otherwise we're much better off using stand-alone download managers.
In the original Scrapbook, the primary means of adding saving a page was by dragging the tab onto the desired folder in the Scrapbook sidebar.
I downloaded Scrapbook+ expecting to do just that but what do we get? Scrapbook+ does not even recognise the fact that I had dragged something over it!
If this add-on is an improvement over the older Scrapbook, it should at the very least implement all features of the old one instead of taking them out.
Please include this feature in the next version because it IS REALLY IMPORTANT.
