Easy YouTube Video Downloader

Roll-back Works Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I rolled back to the 5.6 version and all is good again. Very nice. I wonder if your problem is with the FF programmers continually moving the bar, so to speak. Don't they create the basic interface that add-on creators must use? Anyway, glad to have my downloader back. Thanks.

Got your email regarding the download errors. However, I reinstalled and got the same problems again. Bummer.

Oops on New Version Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Liked the one just before 5.7, but when I followed the automatic update today, it trashed a lot of my 3.6.9 environment (the last good version). Had to remove it completely. No-Un stopped working and the add-ons manager looked different, for two changes it caused. Hope it can get fixed. Would like to keep your add-on around. It gets the job done right.

Folder Filters Button

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Darn handy. You may wish to point out that the install does nothing and the preferences are inactive. To use, one must open the toolbar customization to manually add the button. Thanks for the helpful fix this addon provides.

Aero Fox Silver XL

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Very disappointed to find that this installs a form of adware - it appears there is a tie-in with micro$oft. I'm sure no one does that for free. It is a lie to call it opt-in when it is opt-out. Watch out for this one!

Dead Button Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This looked like just the thing, but the drop-down button wouldn't work.

Notification Viewer

Much Needed Rated 3 out of 5 stars

There is a huge need for something like this. I think this is a fantastic idea, and extremely useful. Can't wait for the newer version. Thanks for your efforts, and keep up the good work.

Thanks for Gantt View. Hang in there. We look forward to the next release.

2 Pane Bookmarks

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This addon disabled the ability to drag and drop items in the bookmarks library. By disabling it, that feature returned.

Lightning

Time-Frame Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Someone at ArchLinux added Lightning to the last T-bird 3.0 build, and it had a lot of visual impact and appeared very useful, especially with the new tab layout. Then they removed it in the next update a couple days later because of some display problems (which I didn't experience). I decided to install the add-on version and found it incompatible. But now I want it. I may not be able to live without it.

Do you have a time-frame you could state for the 1.0 version? It would sure be helpful to know.

Bottom line; you're doing great! Keep up the good work. And thanks.

NoUn Buttons: Unmerge Back & Forward Buttons/Menus

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I still think this is a great product. I did notice that one must try a different theme/icon set sometimes, as mentioned in the addon directions. But mine worked good with the theme I was using.

It is a little confusing sometimes to get the buttons customized in the right positions. It would be a huge improvement to give some preset choices in the options area, or perhaps a way to drag them around in the options.

And of course, it would be nice to see the web site working.

Thanks again. Keep up the good work.

Bookmarks Scrollbar

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

As MWG said, one can install it in later versions, and it does work in my 3.0.10 Gran Paradiso.

I'm very grateful for the add-on, and I can't believe this wasn't a part of the program to begin with.

Thanks jAgx!

Spam Complaint

A Very Good Start Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have used this add-on for over a month and am impressed with the usefulness of the program. I have been receiving a huge quantity of spam (upwards of 50 to 100 per day), so my use is a fair test. The program is successful at least 25% of the time, and I receive a message that the problem will be handled or the spammer's account has been closed. That's making significant progress on the problem!

I agree that we still have a problem finding the correct recipient (among other issues), but using it will not increase the amount of spam. In fact, this is a great attempt at the experimental stage of development.

Some people are obviously confused about the way email works. If one has a proper firewall, there is no way that viewing a piece of email will communicate with the receipent, and with proper anti-virus one will not be at risk for attached viruses.

This add-on is a great idea with great potential. I look forward to the 1.0 version.

NoUn Buttons: Unmerge Back & Forward Buttons/Menus

Good idea Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is a great idea for something that should have been built into the program to begin with. Except that it actually was built in originallly and someone decided to make the program less intuitive, rather than more, by removing it. Congradulations to Gulp21 for bring it back!

Two little things need to be perfected. One is the fact that the home page is no longer available. The other is that what appears to be called the "Fx 2 style" seems to be missing.

The unified history button is the worst part of the original program downgrade by Mozilla, and getting the separate buttons back is the most important part of this add-on, IMHO.

The author is certainly on the right track and deserves our support.

Forum Additive

Not Working Yet for 3.0.7 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I tried it on 3.0.7 and it didn't do anything.

The add button doesn't work, so there is no way to add a forum. The little question mark context help don't stay open long enough to read, and that behavior is contrary to having a close button on the pop-up anyway.

I noticed that the built-in comment mechanism doesn't work either. The link here for the home page loops right back here to the addons page.

I may have read something wrong, but I swear I saw it called "Forum Addictive" within the preferences.

I don't think this effort, while a good idea, is quite ready to release for even testing use. And since there are question regarding its function anyway, without being able to try it out, we can't tell much about usefulness for one's own needs.

Thanks for the effort, and keep it up. I'll be watching for the next release.

Follow-up:
Because of the add-on author's response, I take back my initial supportive response.

Further, if an author complains to the user for a feature that does not work, it is unlikely that the author will find the ability to fix the problem. I am unclear as to why anyone puts out an experimental release, if they are upset when people point out the bugs. Its too bad when one can't see the forest for the trees.

Second Followup:
My initial comment is only constructive to those who don't want to be suckered into using a piece of shoddy software, or for those who would like to make their software better. When I wrote that it didn't do anything, most people realize that to mean that it does nothing toward the purpose for which it was installed. The details of those failures are clearly listed.

The program simply does not work, as witnessed by others' comments. The only difference appears that I listed some of its many failings.

And, yes, as of this date this is still listed as an experiemental release. As such the author is attacking the very people who were generous enough with their time and resources to give it a try and offer feed-back. Too bad they are slapped in the face with such ungratefulness.

No, it is most assuredly not ready for use, and is still listed as needing a great deal of testing.

-THIS PROGRAM IS EXPERIMENTAL. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK-

This author clearly deserves our pity, not our support.

Menu Editor

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Thank you for the add-on. Excellent effort, but incomplete.

I believe it should really cover the whole menu bar, as is implied by the description. For instance, I cannot move things around, nor can I move things between bars.

In any case, keep up the good work.

Statusable

Bars Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thank you. This one works for its purpose, which is a fairly good one. I use it with Organize Status Bar without any problem on Mandriva 2007.1 Spring Free in Firefox 2.0.0.13.

But here's the problem with the genre in general. It would be very cool to have one add-on that handles all the different bars at the same time. Items should be movable from one bar to the other, and the bars should be able to be set to auto-hide and pop-up on demand as desired, individually.

These ideas are the next step in the whole process of providing the needed usability.

In any case, thank you, and keep up the good work.

disablemenu

User Experience Rated 3 out of 5 stars

A very interesting add-on for sure. I find the whole idea extremely useful.

However, in application I would suggest some sort of toggle button somewhere. to turn it on and off on demand. (Key sequences are not something that are possible to remember for all the myriad possibilities out there.)

Keep up the good work. You're well on your way to making a great add-on.

Many thanks.
