My Reviews

TabGroups Manager

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It looks like the review's that link to the fix have been pulled by an administrator. I searched the Google cache and found xtrm_xtrm's April 10th post that links to it. I'll post a separate review with that link. I wonder if an authority thinks the fix creates a risk for users. Or are posts with links generally pulled?

I apologize if this review appears twice. I don't see my first one in the TGM reviews page, but only on my reviews page.

Memory Fox

I agree with the many great reviews Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've had Firefox gradually consume memory to the point of having to shut down my computer and restarting. I've even purchased more RAM to extend the length of time that I can use Firefox. With Memory Fox, my memory consumption seems to stay below 200,000K, at times 10,000, which is amazing as Firefox before would reach 400,000k in an hour. Mozilla, learn from MF. I, possibly like many others, was this close || to leaving for another browser. If it wasn't for the great community and customizations, I would have been gone.

Spell Checker Improved - Firefox 4 Compatible !

pretty good Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It seems the custom dictionary is not referenced. :( I work in a world of many unique names so having the custom dictionary integrated would be idea. FYI, I did test the custom dictionary with form fields and it is working just fine there; therefore, this confirms the problem is with the addon. I will note the same problem exists with the original Spell Checker.

Scrollbar Search Highlighter

Hallelujah! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Finally, after what seems to be years of updating the max-version for Search Marker, I have found SSH. Thanks. You also made me do away with Find Toolbar Tweaks. I agree with Tjaarddddd (February 21, 2011). If the highlight all could be enabled with 3 or more characters, it would be perfect.

After what seems to be years of tweaking the max-version, I found the addon "Scrollbar Search Highlighter". It is a great replacement.

gPDF

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately, this addon doesn't whitelist any sites so if you visit an intranet, you cannot use it. Fortunately, the alternative is a GreaseMonkey script that provides the right functionality.

Highlight My Site

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It would be great to have two different colour highlights. One for my site and one for competition sites.

SaveMemory

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like it though I thought it would require less interaction. For example, I expected that all background tabs would be paused and unpaused when in the foreground. Some sites could be whitelisted so they are always unpaused. As it is now, I have to make the pauses happen.

Search Marker

Search Marker is superior in functionality over XUL/Migemo. I agree with others that we need someone to make Search Marker work.

Mattk has been silent. Is there another developer out there that would continue Mattk's great work?

Stay tuned everyone. Mattk says the update will be around in about a month. It seems FF3.5 highlights text in a different way than before.

CSSMate

nice benefit of CSSMate Rated 4 out of 5 stars

What I love about CSSMate is that you can draft changes to the CSS in the CSSMate sidebar, close the sidebar (this site continues to use this client side CSS), navigate the site to see if there are any cascading issues, and then open the sidebar again to tweak your draft CSS. This is wickedly awesome.

Find Toolbar Tweaks

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Also use the Search Marker extension if you like the Highlight All feature.

I'm glad to see the FF3 beta2. It works great for me. The highlight all functionality makes this extension my pick over other related extensions.

FAYT

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I started using FAYT with FF3 as the Find Toolbar Tweaks (FTT) did not support it. I just found that the FTT has a development version which works great. HIGHLIGHT ALL is automatic and functions extremely well.

Password Finder

must have for password manager users Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I generally find looking through the a large number of listed sites in the Password Manager annoying. It really needs to be sorted backwards (starting at the .com) for easier finding because the following does not sit together:
http://domain.com
http://www.domain.com
https://www.domain.com
https://domain.com

This extension is a must have for anyone who uses the Password Manager and also has a number of sites listed.
