This addon was great until something like 7.0 but I think it went too far with feature & settings creep recently.
In recent version there's been some strange bug that made it unusable for me, seems sometimes whatever I do (pushing a key from keyboard, opening a URL via address bar), it keeps toggling a tiled tab (even if initially there was no layout open)... The only way to stay sane is to disable the addon.
Simple but useful. Keep it that way.
If you seek for a replacement for modern versions of Fx, see Tabloc: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tabloc/
Great to see a replacement for PermaTabs Mod working in new versions of Firefox (10 as I write it).
Simply works. Thanks. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1).
Superb complement to AdBlock Plus to remove crap from websites ;) and of course to add various tweaks for power users. Good job. I keep using it since earliest versions. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.3).
All-time greatest add-on, with so many usage possibilities (ad blocking, script debugging etc). Thanks Wladimir! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3.10).
Version 1.7 Works fine with Fx 7.0.1. Thanks for keeping it up-to-date, I found that bug ('feature') extremely annoying. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7).
Highly configurable (and the configuration is much simpler than built-in Opera gestures). Simply: works as supposed to. Have been using for long time. v0.22.1 works fine in Fx 7.0.1 for me (just like previous versions in 3.6).This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.22.1).
Great add-on, I've been using it for a long time. Especially docking "Downloads" is great (I hated Downloads window as separate window).
There used to some compatibility issues in the past, but now it works great (0.7.14 with Fx 7.0.1 + Greasemonkey, Stylish). If you use 3.6.* still, I recommend 0.7.11 version from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/pl/firefox/addon/all-in-one-sidebar/versions/ [however, it is incompatible with Greasemonkey].
@Conceit: I can resize to whatever width I want (but I upgraded from 3.6 to 7.0, not sure if this affects the case).
For all concerned with BarTab not working after update from 3.6 to newer version: BarTab Lite seems to be working fine for me in 7.0.1 (no phantom tabs, no need to manually click "reload" to load the unloaded page).
This is a very useful addon, though half-baked as some parts are "not implemented yet" as mentioned before. And, well, after I upgraded from 1.2.6 to 1.2.7 (Firefox 3.6.21) the behavior was not preserved; the "Tools" menu was a mess (after ticking on and off some random option it restored), but context menu of a tab simply doesn't work (displays all options). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Very useful extension when one has dozens of addons which produce horribly big menus ;)This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.6).
Great, I love it :)
However there might be a bug, cause when I launch CacheViewer while Last.fm player is running in background in one of tabs, then music stops, CacheViewer slows, and after few seconds Adobe Flash plugin displays message 'A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?'
When not launching CacheViewer while music playing, this had never happened before.
I also can't wait for the FF3-compatible version :) One of my first add-ons after each installation.
