Classic Theme Restorer (Customize UI)

Same for Thunderbird? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a truly excellent add-on for Firefox. Is there something similar for Thunderbird?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.9.6).

Titlebar Tabs Cleaner

Having trouble installing Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I have just tried to install this add-on to Thunderbird 31.3.0.

It says it is installed, but when I right-click the Toolbar and select customize, I cannot find a button labelled "Titlebar Cleaner" in the list of available icons.
Please help.

Video DownloadHelper

No support??? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I have always liked Download Helper, but now have a technical problem. However:
1. the "contact us" link,
2. the support forum, and
3. the Knowledge Base articles

...on http://www.downloadhelper.net are all down or not working.
What can we do?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.9.21).

NewTabURL

It DOES work in FF15 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thanks to GGITech's post "How to Get it Working" I undid all the changes that had already been made to about:config by me or other add-ons/options, and now NewTabURL is working beautifully again for me.

MANY thanks, GGITech!

Be good if the add-on author could update it to do the required tweaks for you though.

Lightning

Lightning 1.3 incompatible with Thunderbird 10.0.2 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love Lightning, but I'm incredibly annoyed that Thunderbird was able to automatically update itself and completely remove all signs of Lightning without any warnings whatsoever.
I have already missed one appointment today because I got no notification, and have several upcoming events where important details were stored with the event. Until this mess is sorted out, how can I access my data?

Edit Bookmark Plus

Can't uninstall? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

by Andy_P on January 21, 2012 #

I installed this and it looks like a good replacement for "OpenBook", but one of my other add-ons has stopped working so I tried uninstalling Edit Bookmarks Plus again to check whether it was causing a clash.

But after uninstalling and restarting Firefox, the re-sizable Add Bookmark window is still there.

How do we uninstall your add-on????

I suppose that you mean that add bookmark window has larger size even after installing edit bookmark plus. If this is the case, install the addon, again, make the popup appear and re-size it to normal size. Afterwards when you uninstall addon, your window will appear in size that you left it at.

This is an issue in remembering the width and height of popup which will be fixed in later version.

By the way, can you tell me the addon name that conflicted and the issue that you faced? I might fix it if it can be.

------------------------------------

Thanks for the swift reply and explanation, I was just concerned that I didn't seem to be uninstalling completely.

The first issue I had was with an old version of my default theme - "Firefox2 the Theme Reloaded" v0.9.9 as the bookmarks tree wouldn't resize. I've updated that now to v2.0 and your add-on works fine with it.

The other issue I'm having is with "Old Location Bar 2.1.6" - where several features don't work in my new FF9 (notably the "Go" arrow and getting rid of the Star) but uninstalling your add-on made no difference to it, so the problem lies elsewhere!

So no problems at your end! Thanks again.

Old Location Bar

Several options no longer working? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love this add-on and have been using it for ages.

but I've just updated to FF9 and the following aspects don't seem to work any more

- Always display "Go" button
- Hide the Bookmark button (Star)
- Hide the dropdown button
- Remove Old Location Bar from the "Tools" menu.

I noticed the "Go" arrow appears briefly on startup, but as soon as my homepage (Google) appears it gets replaced by the bookmark star and the dropdown arrow.

Tab Replace

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Is there a support page for this?
I'm seeing odd results, where
1. the first item in a bookmarked tab group is not opened, and
2. the first tab often appears to the left of the "+" button to add a new tab.

Replacetabs Extension

Can it be made to work with FF9? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I found this extension SO useful - almost invaluable, and cannot understand why we can't have it as a standard option in FF now.

PLEASE can you make it work with FF9?

OpenBook

This was one of the best addons ever Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Please, oh please, resurrect this extension so it will work with recent versions of Firefox.

The fact that this and one other add-on wouldn't work has been my main reason for staying with FF3 for so long.

I can't believe how awful the standard save bookmark dialog is and the prospect of having to live with it again is really depressing.

Is there ANY chance? Is there any alternative?

Nightly Tester Tools

Add-on compatability Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I was equally concerned as previous reviewers that the "Force compatibility" was gone.
But I just discovered it only seems to be the button that has gone from the AddOns window/box. If I go to the Tools menu and select "Force AddOn Compatibility" from the Nightly Testers Tools menu, it still works. (Thank Heavens!).
"Options" is greyed out as well but I can't remember if everything there is also available from the Tools sub-menu, so it would still be nice to get it working as before again.

Smiley Xtra

Not for me... Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Must admit I've gone back to SmilieXtra 4.
Obviously it is nice to have a greater variety and less broken links, but I prefer the categories method.
Is there not a way to compromise and retain the categories and still have the word search?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (5.0.1).
