Tree Style Tab

Hack for custom folder names Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love the extension, and am kicking myself for not checking it out years ago!

Here's a hack to give you some custom semi-permanent tree names (with nice folder icons!):

SUMMARY: Create a Bookmarks folder with the name, then "open all in tabs" to open it as a new tree,

1. Create bookmark/folder structure like this:
--Bookmarks Menu
------Group Name 1
--------DELETE ME (about:blank)
--------DELETE ME (about:blank)
------Group Name 2
--------DELETE ME (about:blank)
--------DELETE ME (about:blank)
("Group Name x" should be whatever you want it to be)

2. Go to bookmarks menu, select your chosen group, and "Open all in tabs". Make sure it opens as a new tree. You'll now have a new tree with a nice folder icon and your custom name, with two blank pages under it.
3. Move one or more tabs under your new group.
4. Now that you have at least one other item under it, you can delete the 2 blank pages that originally came with it.

Yes. that's a lot of work, but it'll do until something better comes along! (and you only have to do it once, so it's really not that bad if you're going to be using a group longer than a day)

Repeat Borders

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Slick! Easy install, no configuration. I like that I can distinguish edited instances. I do wish, though, that I had a way to make my repeat appts stick out *less* than the other appointments, rather than more -- my calendar's too busy already. Too bad there's no way to control the text color to make it lower contrast than the auto black/white -- I'd like Lightning to offer control of text color in addition to the background color.

Resurrect Pages

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The option to open in a new tab is what really won my vote for this one over "Cache View". A nice feature would be an "open all" (only active for new tabs/windows) so you can quickly check hard-to-find pages in one operation. With so many options for engines, maybe even have a checkbox beside each engine to be able to select it as a "favorite" and make the "open all" an "open all favorites" or something like that.

The best thing about these "manual" cach viewers vs. ones that spring up when page load errors occur is that the manual ones work with proxies. :-)

Smooth as gpg gets Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using this plugin for a couple of years, and it works well. It makes it easy to set up and use gpg for email. It's unfortunate that so few people are aware of email encryption, and that PGP is not well supported natively in popular clients, specifically in the MS Windows world.
