Will only make a difference if the website is written to store your referer IP and not the connecting one but even then the server will store the real IP address so all this is doing is providing false security for some.
I remember the Opera extension being the same but it used the mobile version of Gmail which makes more sense when used in this context. Having the full webpage load just results in slow loading and more resources being used. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.4).
NOT FREE! Description refers to it as free online password manager but version for Firefox mobile requires a subscription. Why when the desktop version does not? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.0).
I don't get the point of this addon given 90% of the functions it offers are built in to Firefox already. You can set Firefox to delete most of this, with the exception of Flash cookies, on closing or at anytime via the options. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.0).
This is good if you want extreme protection. Not for me but does exactly what it says on the tin.
@Eric C - Do you work for Ghostery or something since you seem to mention it on nearly every review you post. For a start if you have AdBlock Plus why would you even need to have Ghostery installed since AdBlock Plus has a privacy list. And Ghostery seriously slows down page loading.
As far as I can see the only thing you have done is remove the "Allow some non-intrusive advertising" option which you could just disable via preferences anyway.
Let me know if I am wrong.
Most of this functionality already exists in Firefox if you bothered to RTFM.
shift-click on a tab closes it - Shift + middle click already does this
move the address bar underneath the tab bar - Don't get that one since we already have tabs on top option
move the bookmarks toolbar above the tab bar - Already is for me if I have tabs on top disabled
add “open link in background tab” to open link context menu - Open link in New Tab already opens in a background tab
shift-ctrl-click open links in background tab - Just middle click the link
shift-click opens link in new focused tab - Shift + middle click on a link does this
Does exactly what it says it does. Only annoying thing, and this is a Firefox issue not the extension, is that you cannot have just a private tab or say a new instance of Firefox running in private browsing so you can keep your other tabs open at the same time. Could do with explaining this behaviour in the description so people don't wonder what is happening when they first use it.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.1).
It does a good job of informing you when a site will give you cash back but the toolbar is extremely bland and it messes up the spacing of the items on my navbar. Firefox 8.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).
This is an excellent add on and it looks like Mozilla think so as well. As of Firefox 7 most of this addons functionality is built in to Firefox. The http:// is not displayed in the url bar (although https:// still is for security reasons) and the domain is in black whilst everything else is grey.
This is excellent. Only improvement I could suggest is either pulling the users language from Firefox or letting them set it in preferences and then checking the pages Content-Language meta tag and if it's different have the translate bar auto appear. This is pretty much what Chrome does. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.3).
Isn't this functionality something Firefox does anyway? Hide the menu bar via the View menu and then press alt to have it temporarily appear. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.6.20100626).
Hasn't this been built in to Firefox since version 3.5?
@Nemanja - I'm on Firefox 3.7a5pre and if you right click on either the nav bar or the menu bar you will see Tabs on top as an option. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7).
@chaddjohnson and others - This does not need updating for 3.6 as 3.6 has this functionality built in and enabled by default.
The last update actually stops it removing the menu bar it just now removes all the menu items and leaves the bar. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.0.0).
@thesi001 - Did you bother to read any of the other comments before posting your drivel? The nightlies of Lightning work fine with Thunderbird 3. And do you seriously think that Mozilla should go out of their way to make sure extensions for an old build still work on a new build? You should of checked if your extensions were compatible before updating in the first place. The only thing unprofessional around here is your comment. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9).
@JohnDavidMyself - So how is Jeroen Peters responsible for how Mozilla's search engine works? It clearly states that this only works up to 3.0a1. People need to learn to read before they post comments complaining that this extension does not work with Thunderbird 3 when it's maker, Jeroen Peters, has not stated that it works with Thunderbird 3 final. One stupid person has even accused him of false advertising.
BTW what has the working of the search function go to do with the comprehension of the text on this page?
@sr@ - Show me where it says Thunderbird 3. I think you need to slow down when reading to increase your comprehension. At a guess you are misreading "Thunderbirds 3-pane-window" which is is missing an apostrophe I admit but still makes sense. "Thunderbirds 3-pane-window" means the three areas or panes that Thunderbird uses to display folder list, email list and the email contents.
