Finally, a video downloader that works! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been through so many crap video downloaders that do not do what they are meant to do. This one works!

Thank you developer!

Brilliant Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This extension word brilliantly by using several methods to find the streaming video.

It's the only extension that I could get to work on all sites that I found that uses flv streaming.

FLV files can be converted to other formats with VLC

.octet-stream files Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Still works for site like redtube. If you're using flashget as the download manager via flashgot extension. Then just readjust the download mode of the downloadhelper extension to normal and download those darn .octet-stream files with firefox itself. Then just rename the file to .flv. The download doesn't seem to run if it's of type .octet-stream with flashget. Zzzzz. Anyway... this is probably one of the most functional video download extension thing for firefox for now.

One of the best. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent!!! I think it should come standard on firefox. Very useful tool. PS. I would like to send a donation, but I don't want to use my credit card. I think they should consider adding an address or a PO box where one can send his or her donation.

Best FLV downloader Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've tried several like pirate downloader and "Ook Video Ook" (dumbest name ever), and this has worked best from when there icon looked like the "cingular man" to the spinning colored balls now. Love that is lists what sites it works with!

good but has small issue Rated 4 out of 5 stars

its very good and user friendly.
however, even if the browser has completely downloaded the video and it has been seen already, when the plugin is activated to save the video it insists on downloading the whole video again.
why can it not get it from the browser cache?
thanks

little icon/down'em'all Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Worked well for me ! My little daughter will be happy to watch some "Chapi Chapo" videos from YouTube :-)
Some suggestions :
- make it a small Firefox tray icon (it takes too much place in my toolbar menu, hmmm...)
- make it possible to choose Down'em'all extension for downloading instead of standard Firefox download window
Thanks for reading !

Better than the others Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've tried at least one other similar addon. DownloadHelper is much better. This addon works on youtube as well as other websites. It tells you when you can download with its small animated icon.

Pros: It works well and is easy to use. The developers even update the addon (eventhough I haven't seen any errors).

Cons: Sometimes there are multiple files to choose from which is odd. Otherwise the program would be flawless.

Works very well Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Not what I would deem an essential add-on, but it's the most reliable tool for the job. Interface is a little sketchy. If you want what this offers, it is your best choice.

Most useful in years! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Without any hesitation, I can say that Firefox with the Download Helper extension is one of the ten most useful things I have EVER downloaded. Not only can its multiple algorithms find the stream on almost any site, using the extension is easy as pie. My archive of invaluable YouTube clips has been growing with no mess, no fuss--and without any added expense. Thanks you so so much. I will definitely make a donation when I can afford to.
