Great ... But?? Rated 4 out of 5 stars
However, the image quality is terrible.
The competition uses Java and the pic quality is excellent, I've enabled java but makes no difference to pic quality. Hopefully improved in future releases.
In addition ... ...
Latest version much improves image quality. (good work)
However, it's so annoying when the thumbnails automatically attempt to update themselves and fail, leaving a blank square, hopefully a later revision will fix this annoyance.
Overall Excellent ... ...
Current Version I'm using is 0.7.0.7
Seems much better this version. Almost all the niggles are sorted. The only one that still bothers me is the thumbnails sometimes vanish when trying to refresh themselves.
Re: Great ... But??
Java scaling is included since 0.7 .
To enable it, go to the Speed Dial settings panel, and in the "Thumbnails" tab, toggle the value of the "Use Java scaling (Firefor 2 only)" checkbox. From then on, thumbnails will have a higher quality.
For even more quality, consider enabling the "old thumbnail rendering" option, which is just before the Java one. That will increase the quality of the thumbnails even more.
Interferes with tab bar Not yet rated
I kept losing the tab bar while I had this extension enabled. No more problems with the tab bar since disabling the extension. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.0.3).
Re: Interferes with tab bar
No other user has reported such problem, and I didn't add any functionality related to the tab bar, so I'm quite sure this is the result of a conflict with some other extension you've installed. In any case, I cannot reproduce your issue if I don't know anything about your environment.
New one Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Doesn't seem to work for me :( it did before, so heres a 10 for a nice extension ^.^This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.0.3).
Re: New one
Perhaps before it always opened in new tabs? If you're missing this feature, set it by opening the Speed Dial settings panel, and in the "Main" tab, toggle the "Load in blank new tabs" checkbox. In the case you would have more problems, contact me by email or make a post at Speed Dial's thread in MozillaZine: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=3207103
Good extension but, Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Fastdial is much better. Just see the quality of thumbnails in java scaling and Custom logo options. Clean finish, very crisp.
Try both and you will choose fastdial. Other than regular thumbnails see what you can do with fastdial. Fastdial 8/10
Re: Good extension but,
The new version (0.7) has Java scaling, custom logos, plus a lot more. I'll be uploading it this weekend, but it's already available at http://speeddial.uworks.net/mirror.html .

This is just a fabulous idea. And it works great. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0.7).
Essential add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Completely changes how I use a browser - if you set the Speed Dial page to "about:blank" you just go to your home group whenever you close all the windows. Yes, it has (slight) imperfections, but it's free, it is extremely useful, and the guy is actively developing it. Well done mate! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0.7).
Love it!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Great handy tool. Instead of scrolling through my long list of bookmarks to find my favorite site, one click on Speed Dial dials it up for me. I have 16 of my frequented sites stored Speed Dial is one of the plug-ins I will never browse without it ever again! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0.7).

I've yet to download this extension...but...I was browsing through Mozilla's Add-ons, I noticed--you know how it is here--that you're actually responding to the comments. Awesome! A lot of these other extension authors don't take the time or plain don't do it, and that's why your humble gesture is greatly appreciated.
Oye José, mantente humilde; sigue siendo buena onda.

Since installing it, I haven't looked back. It's a good piece of software and I can't live without it.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0.7).
Very useful, does exactly what it says. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I love speed dial in Opera and this does exactly what it says: It adds speed dial to Firefox.
Really adds to firefox functionality Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I just wanted to say how much I like this add-on.
It really is very good, I don't know how else to say it, it is very good.
Great software, responsive developer Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I've been using the Opera browser for a while and decided to give Firefox another whirl. I saw there's a speed dial extension, which is one of my favorite features native to Opera. I installed in on my Mac, and quickly found the hotkeys didn't work. I read through the discussions and saw that someone else had the same problem and the developer, Josep del Rio, said to email him directly for support. So I decided to email him, too....he responded right away and directed me to an updated version which fixes the hotkey functionality on the Mac. This is exactly what I am looking for in both software and a developer! Thanks so much for the assistance. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0.2).
Speed Dial getting more and more unusable Not yet rated
As the title says, Speed dial is getting worse and worse. Pages don\'t refresh any more and stay blank, after closing the last tab, speed dial did not show at all (this old bug re-appears). The rendering of the pages is really ugly. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0.2).
Re: Speed Dial getting more and more unusable
Try downloading version 0.5.0.7 at http://speeddial.uworks.net/mirror.html . That should solve the first two problems. About the rendering, I added an option to the version I mentioned to use the old method. Unfortunately, the latest Firefox version (18.104.22.168) has a bug that will prevent that method from working. The rendering quality is highly improved if you use Firefox 3 beta 1.
suggestion: option to replace the jpeg with simple buttons Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Great add-on! I like to use many dial-up buttons on the page and for this reason the jpeg assigned to each page is becaming unreadable because the size is decreasing very much. The question could be if is possible to replace the jpeg capture of the entire page, with a crop made by me, or even better: if is possible to disable those jpeg and use some color pallete for the buttons, some text edditing option (size, font, color). Thank you for your work! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0.2).
Doesn't work with all sites Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Spins and spins on just the second site I added. (www.dpreview.com) I suspect this isn't the only site that gives it trouble. Also, small rendering of pages is really poor. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0.2).

Speed Dial and IE tabs Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Very good extension.
My only quibble is that there's no title nor thumbnail for IE tab sites, just an IE icon and (untitled).
Some banking sites work better in IE tab and I've configured them to use this.
I can set an SD to such sites and it works. However I need to hover over the SD to see what it points to.
As I have just one SD set like this, it's not much of a problem for me.
Thanks for the extension.
I've also noticed a change in behaviour in the latest release.
I quite often used to close the last tab when I'd finished with one subject and wanted to bring up Speed Dial (I have Speed Dial configured to open in new tabs). I found this simpler than opening a new tab and closing the old one.
In the latest release, I just get a blank tab and no Speed Dial.
I prefer the old behaviour, but that's just my preference.
Re: Speed Dial and IE tabs
Unfortunately, the method that Firefox uses to create thumbnails is not compatible with IE Tab... nothing I can do from the extension side.
bug Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I, also cannot use the nav. bar. Plus, when trying to open a new tab, it goes straight to Speed Dial. How can I disable it?This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0.1).
Sorry about the navigation bar bug. It was solved in 0.5.0.1, and was caused by a conflict with IE Tab. I tried to fix it as soon as I could.
As the speed for Speed Dial has improved a lot since the last release, I decided to activate the option to load in new blank tabs by default. Deactivate it in the "Main" tab in Speed Dials settings window.
Outstanding + Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Not only is this one of the finest EXT.'s of it's kind, but the author actually cares about his work. Today there was for the first time a conflict with an update. I contacted Josep about the matter and was resolved within 30 minutes. Now I am sure this will not always be the case, but this author in my opinion went above what should ever be expected from a developer of EXT's.
The hours that these people put in for us at no cost is often take for granted.
I cannot give thanks for everyone... but you have my utmost respect for your efforts.
Josep, again thank you for your time today.
