First Impressions Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great Add-On which I am finding very useful and which has much potential.
A couple of things which I thought might make things even better!

1. The ability to delete all future or all past instances of a repeating event rather than the "this occurrence" or "all occurrences" as offered at present. For example - being able to delete only the future occurrences leaves the past occurrences in tact as a useful record of those events.

2. Clicking on an event launching a link to the details of a contact in the address book or a dialogue to initiate and email or telephone call to a set individual or group of individuals.

Very nice program, easy to use and so on.
But, there are some things, that I don't like:

There is no link from activities to calendar. Activities, which have to be completed soon - could be shown in calendar (not - copied to, but shown).

I could not see easy way of sharing data from my work computer to home (should be OS independent). Also export/backup could be done that way.

Also, there could be more listings or profiles (private/job/entertainment etc.)

And... If thunderbird is not working, there could be some agent in tray with less memory consumption, which triggers out alarms. :)

Wouldn't work on Vista 64 bit Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Not really a review because it wouldn't load! I downloaded the file but it refused to run - I can only assume it isn't compatible with Vista 64 bit OP

GREAT but need a "year" icon Rated 4 out of 5 stars

great - but would like to see an icon where you can see the whole year, or 6 months either side of the current date, or the next 12 months from the current date. Would not have to show events but at least the months and dates.

Microsoft Outlook Killer Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Everything you need to replace the bloated Microsoft Outlook. Calendar, Tasking, Scheduling - everything is stable and with the GDate extension syncing to Google Calendar is a snap.

One less application to open Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Easy to use - now I don't have to have Outlook open.

One problem: I set my timezone to eastern time (America/New York) yet the Reminder/alarm pops up 4 hours early.

Need A 64 Bit Version Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It is really disappointing that we can't use Lightning on 64 bit Mandriva systems. I really relied on Lightning and consider it a major part of my Thunderbird use. It's sorely missed.

Build 0.8 doesn't work on my Ubuntu Build, but 0.7 does, and it's great Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It looks good, feels good, and while I would miss the extra task button. I can add events and tasks from the right side bar on my Mozilla Thunderbird. 0.8 does won't allow you to events or tasks on Thunderbird 2.0.16 on Ubuntu 8.04. Please fix. Thanks!

This is excellent! I've been using FF and TB for years, but never knew about this Mozilla based calendar - which is a shame. After a little effort (Googling ;-)) it is now syncing with my mobiles and Rainlender - I'm happy! Keep up the good work guys!

If you have Outlook 2003 users, you can use version 0.9 pre. 0.8 invitations from lightning can't be accepted in 2003. Now it works. I'm happy!!

Excellent but.. Annoying Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is an excellent add-on to my Thunderbird. However, it broke my Thunderbird layout at first, it was quickly fixed by Google-ing and I would blame myself of not reading the requirements carefully (maybe).

The true shame is that, Lightning is not enabled in my Thunderbird anymore after a week of annoyance by the un-dismissable calendar reminders. Which popped up every certain interval to either disturb my work or hang my Thunderbird.

I tried to get the latest from the trunk, it's said that it's for Thunderbird 3 but I failed to install this extension into the Alpha1.

Hope all the problems could be fixed soon. Keep up the good work guys.
