Just downloaded it and installed. Love how easy it works!!

Overall I really like this add-on. Mybiggest concern is with the current lack of support off-line, in which case I have to agree with other posts, it renders lightning pretty much useless. Looking forward to the word being done in this area.
While I do like the way the calendar currently handles I do continue to have problems with tasks that appear to be related to the google add-on. Hopefully these will be resolved otherwise I would have given it four stars.

I think this program, all T-Bird add ons and extensions actually, would be greatly enhanced by having a coherent easy to find and use instruction program. For instance, Lightning has a section for TASKS. Great BUT I can not figure out how to download the items in here so I can take the list with me away from the computer.

As far as going to Mozillazine and the other, hundreds seemingly, help sites, well, there you go how do find the right one?

Not everyone is as good at doping this stuff out as the people who write them or answer the questions. No argument that all of this stuff is so much better than Outlook and its' variants, still...

possible to share a calendar file (I use both a desktop and laptop)? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hi
great tool!
my only wish is ... I use multiple computers, is it possible to setup the calendar file on my mailserver so I can use the calendar client on my laptop and have changes showup when I use the calendar client on my desktop?

Good extension that integrates tightly with Thunderbird. Offers both calendaring and task management. Still has a ways to go before it offers the compatibility of Calgoo or the featureset of Outlook. Good for individuals, needs to hook into Google Calendar to be good for teams.

I'd like to find out if anyone intends to do anything about this horrible UI change since version .05?

I can't stand the unmovable toolbars and buttons along with the space wasting 3 pane view. I mean this sort of thing just caused Pidgin to fork and I'm starting to wish someone would do the same here and give us the users some choice. I know I'm not alone in this but it doesn't seem like anyone on the official development side wants to address this.

I love it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's like having the Outlook calendar and task management system in Thunderbird. I just wish you could print tasks too. One other issue is when I make a new calendar, nothing changes, and both calenders continue to operate as if there is only one and the same calendar. Anyone have a fix for that?

a few problems Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I appreciate the effort that went into developing this add-on. In the interest of helping improve it, here are the bugs I've noticed:

1) Message preview panel cannot be resized (even though I get the two-arrowed cursor when I hover over the horizontal divider).

2) Alarms don't sound for tasks.

3) I sync my calendar with my Google Calendar, but if the Google Calendar info isn't retained when I'm offline, that function is nearly useless. I don't know whether that's a problem with Lightning itself or with the Provider add-on.

Thanks.

Lightning TODAY pane position Rated 4 out of 5 stars

thanks a lot for this wonderful extension.

Have a small question, I am using TB version 2.0.0.14 (20080505) and Lightning 0.8. Would like to know , if it's possible to change the Lightning TODAY pane position in the TB.

As of now it's shows at right hand side, would like to position it below the folder list (ie. earlier version behaviour).

Thanks
Nikhil

Also the meeting invites work for me adding to my calendar but I would like to see an option for notifying the sender of your choice. I had several people calling me to see if I was coming to a meeting when I had accepted the invite.

Love it but having problems with tasks. When adding a task I have to exit and re-enter Thunderbird to get the Today pane to update. I also have to click on an option under show or change screens in the Task list to get my new task to appear. Using Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 under Linux. I also have multiple calendars and alarms are working fine for me btw.

good app, but... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

very good, but would be great if it would sync with outlook for those of us who have to have that app.

Just an addition (since I just wrote about printing limitations for Lightning): for years, when one prints an Addressbook in Thunderbird, it never prints in alphabetical order, but, it seems, in the order that cards are added or some other mysterious order. Does anyone know a workaround?

Lightning is even better, and .9 works fast for me on Vista.
For those who have trouble with seeing your tasks on the Mail view, just press the little arrows on the top right above the events list. You can toggle between events, tasks, or both together.

I still have a few suggestions for the next version, as someone who likes to print my calendars:
1. When I print a weekly planner, the Sundays still get in the wrong place (Sept 28 coming after Oct 4, for example). This seems like a glitch.

2. There is no way to print a daily calendar in anything other than the List view.

3. I still don't see any way to print tasks.

Thank you for a great program!
